I have a Woods upright freezer. At the very bottom under the slide in basket there is an accumilation of ice developing. The ice attains a 1/2" thickness over a 6 week period. The ice stops the basket from moving but can be chipped out. What is causing this and what steps can I take to eliminate the problem.Thank you for your help.
I could be wrong, but, look along the bottom of the door to see if the seal is tight to the frame......if there is an air gap it is causing the floor to freeze the cold air....
Is the evaporator fan running well? I had this problem, and found it was the evaporator fan had lost strength. The fan was running, but was very weak. Once I replaced the fan with a new one, the force of the new fan was significantly stronger and this kept the top part of the freezer cold as well.
