Date and time function

The date and time function is not working on my camera. It is set correctly but it won't imprint on the picture. I've tried but can't get it to stamp.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

SOURCE: Canon SD 1000 time and date stamp on downloaded photo

You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=323&modelid=14901 From page 37 of the manual it looks like you can only select the time stamp in "postcard" mode. Also the date & time need to be set in the camera first. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

SOURCE: Powershot A720 Date Function

Do you want date/time stamp?

If so, you will have to be in postcard resolution.
To achieve this you will put your camera in shooting mode, hit function/set button, arrow down to bottom left corner where you will see L, M, S and postcard modes. Select the one that looks like a postcard.

Hit function/set to get out of there. Now hit menu and go to setup menu (tools) and arrow down to date stamp and make sure it's on date and time.

images shot in this resolution will look good as 4x6 prints, but should not be printed any larger or they will look pixelated, not good quality for larger prints.

Either that or you can add date and time in the Zoombrowser program that came with your camera should you need larger prints with date/time stamp.

I hope this helps!

SOURCE: I AM TRYING TO SET THE DATE & TIME TO APPEAR ON MY PHOTOS.

you can only do date and time stamp under function button go to bottom where you can change size of pictures -go to right to W or wide-this is only setting you can do date time stamp on-when you change pic size and go back to menu you will see it highlighted and you can now turn it on-equals about a 2-3 megapixel size picture only-also just leave settings alone and have printer add it-date and time our always in pic data and most printers can add it

SOURCE: date stamp will not show on my camera

I found the solution o-line. All I had to do was switch the camera to the 'postcard' mode and instant presto, I was able to access the date stamp mode. I want to express my thanks to the (I don't remember who) person who posted the solution.

SOURCE: cannot turn date stamp on in menu settings.

Date stamp is only possible when you set the resolution (picture size) at "Postcard 1600x1200" option, if the date stamp is set to "Date & Time" or "Date" option

Using the Capture Menu
The Capture Menu allows you to adjust camera settings that affect the characteristics
of the images and video clips you capture.
1. While in Live View or Playback, press , then use to highlight .
2. Use to highlight a menu option, then press to display the menu option's
sub-menu.
3. Use to highlight a setting, then press .
4. Press to exit the Capture Menu.
For on-camera information about an option, use to highlight Help... in the option's
sub-menu, then press .

In the capture menu goto

Date & Time Imprint Imprints date in lower left corner of image.
Off Default No date or time imprinted on the image. (this setting)
Date Only Date permanently imprinted.
Date & Time Date and time permanently imprinted.

this should fix your problem

I have a Nikon Coolpix s560. I want to shut off the date/time stamp imprint that it makes. I take pictures of my art with it and cannot have time stamps in the picture.

Welcome to FixYa,

You can disabled the Date Imprint. In this option you can print your pictures without the date and time printed on it.

All you have to do is set the Date Imprint on its default setting or setting it on OFF
Just go to Set up Menu and look for the Date Imprint and set it to OFF.

There are other option where the Date Imprint will be disabled.

- When the Continous Mode is set to Continous or BBS
- When the Scene mode is set to Sports, Museum, or Panorama assist.
- When movies are being recorded.

Hope this information will help you and can answered your question.

Thank you for using FixYa.

HOW TO HAVE DATE IMPRINT ON PHOTOS..? DIRECTLY TO JPEG

As far as I have experienced, there is no setting for imprinting the time/date directly into the pictures. There is an option to print pictures with time/date, see user manual page 51, point 5.
You can however manually imprint pictures with any decent graphic program, looking at the timestamp of your pictures.

I want to set my time date setting so it will be recorded on my pictures. Thank you [email protected]

You will probably find that this not possible. The date and time are recorded in the EXIF information with each photograph all the time but not actually in the picture at all.

I accidentally set the date imprint on my camera. I'm wondering if there is a way to get the date taken off of the front of the pictures I have already taken.

From the manual, "Imprinted dates form a permanent part of image data and cannot be deleted."

The best you can do it to make sure that Date Imprint is turned off for future pictures. The camera still records date/time info into each picture file, and many printing programs can imprint that onto the picture at printing time. The good ones print it on the back, so as not to interfere with the image. Either way, you can always add the date to the picture, but you can't remove it once it's there.

Macro mode and date imprint

In Macro mode, you have to hold the shutter release down halfway and hold it until the focusing system has time to work, then take picture.

Date/Time stamp on image only works in Postcard mode.
