You will have to change the power on your breaker ... take the white off and put it to the neutral bus. This will change the power beig delivered to the pump. In the motor, remove the white wire and put it on L1 ... black should already be on L1.

A side note ... 220 runs more efficiently and your motor will run cooler and at less expense. I suggest you not change it unless there is good reason.

Super II Pump 2.0-.33 (two stage). Motor will not start when on "High," runs for 13 econd when on the low setting, cuts out and then comes on again after about 2 minutes for anothe 13 seconds...

Sounds like the thermal protector for the motor is tripping. This means there is a problem with the motor overheating.
It is a self resetting switch so when it cools off enough the pump will come back on. It also means you probably need a new pump.

A o smith b854 motor schematic diagram 115v . How do I hook up 115v to the factory set 230v?

Remove the back of the pump housing ... inside you will find the 110 volt connection place.

If your pump is on a dedicated line (as it should be) run it on 220 VAC ... To convert your line from 110 to 220 all you need is a double pole breaker of the proper amperage ... take the white wire presently on the ground bus bar and put it on the other side of the new double pole breaker. Then you will have 220 ... and you will save a few bucks on electricity.

Ground wire

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

When it shuts off, is it tripping a GFI or breaker or shutting down due to heat?

How did you connect the other two wires? Is it wired to a 115V or 230V system? It will run on a 115V system even if set for 230V but over time it will overheat and behave as you describe. If it is set for the proper voltage (i.e. – the setting matches the voltage present) you will need to check line voltage at the motor terminals to ensure the motor or supply lines are not dropping the voltage to low causing it to overload and shut down.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!
