Every faucet and shower have a water saving restricter in them. Remove them from the shower head and end of the faucets.
They are about the size of a dime and with about 1/8" hole in them in which water flows out. So the flow is getting restricted from 1/2' flow to this giving you a water saving about a 1.5 gpm.

Below is some more information for the web site please check it out for further help.
http://www.inspectapedia.com/water/Poor-Water-Pressure-Diagnosis.htm
Poor water pressure just at certain plumbing fixtures? poor cold water pressure, hot water pressure, or both hot and cold water pressure or flow that is observed just at some plumbing fixtures in a building while flow and quantity are good at others suggests that the water flow or pressure problems are local to certain runs of supply piping or to the specific fixtures. Check the following first:

  1. Clogged aerator or strainer on sink faucets - clogging by dirt, debris, corrosion, can significantly reduce both hot and cold water flow at a sink where the strainer needs cleaning or replacement. Unscrew the strainer from the faucet and turn on the water - if the fixture pressure or flow is much better you've probably found the problem.

Look at the aerator/strainer: inspect it, clean it, perhaps soaking it overnight in vinegar to remove corrosion and mineral build-up, or just install a new aerator/strainer.

How does pressure tanks work

Pressure tanks do just that in a water system. They create pressure for water to flow when the water pump is on the off cycle. A manifold is plumbed into the tank from the main line coming from the well. The main water line continues to the house plumbing from the manifold. So it's line from pump to manifold - to tank, and from manifold to main into house. The manifold also has tappings for the pressure gauge and the pressure switch. The pressure tank creates water pressure. The water does not flow through the tank. Pressure tanks also have to be 'tuned' or adjusted to the low end pressure set by the pressure switch. Actually the tank pressure needs to be set 2psi below the low end pressure. Most residential water systems are set to operate between 20 -40, or 30-50 psi, which is set by the pressure switch, which in turn , turns the water pump on and off. So if a system operates between 20 and 40 psi, the pre-charged pressure of the tank should be 18 psi. Pre-charged means the tank is drained of water with the water pump OFF. The tank pressure is then checked adjusted by way of the air valve on top of the tank ( A tire gauge works). Pressure tank mainfolds are a common plumbing part.

6 gal tank puts out only about 2 gal of very hot water. ADoes the same whether on gas or with electric hot rod.

Have you tried it with both (hot rod and Gas ) turned on at same time? Is tank well insulated? (looking from behind tank.)
Does temperature drop off quickly, or gradually? Did it supply hot water better before, or this is first time you really measured it out? Need to keep in mind that as hot goes out the top fitting to hot lines, cold is coming in the bottom fitting and beginning to mix with hot, which obvioulsy will cause hot to gradually become warm as it enters. 2 gallons out hot tap, 2 gals., at bottom of tank, then mixing as it flows in usually equals, about 2 gal or less of warm, then cold again. Get many complaints of only enough for a short shower when they have 6 gal tank. You can try adjusting temperature up a little to see if it helps. Keep an eye on pressure relief valve dripping excessively as well as shut pump off for 20min-30 min, then turn it back on before touching any taps, to see if it cycles at all, indicating a leak in the system. If pump doesn't cycle when turned back on, no leaks.

Lots of water on basement floor at pressure tank.

sounds like the bladder tank at the well is ruptured this will cause pressure surge, and pump short cycling, and needs to be replaced asap.

I have the 2700es and the water upstairs gos hot then cold ,hot then cold and so on , what sould i be looking at?

The water temperature may be set too high, or try turning the hot water off and opening a hot water tap. If the water is still flowing out the hot water tap, there is a problem with a faucet (likely a shower valve). It could also be water pressure below 30 psi.

I have a thermostat mixer shower but hot water has become minimal recently, even when water is piping hot from the taps? The shower is fed from cylinder tank on 1st floor, and cold water tank is in the...

The thermostatic mixing spool cartridge may be worn out. The low water pressure may indicate sediment in the cartridge as well. This can be easily removed by hand tools

Hot water taps and showers pressure very low cold taps ok

there is a little cap on the hot and cold side above the shut off valves, turn the water off at these valve and take the caps off there are filters in there clean them off and reinstall them that should take care of the problem, you might want to flush the tank while your at it hook a hose to the hot side connector and run it out side or to a sump pump then turn on the cold water and flush it out you can also reverse this procedure by doing it on the cold side

Cold water suply filling up header tank in loft thru hot water suply on shower.

hi did you run a seperate cold water supply from the storage tank to the shower pump & also a seperate hot supply from the hot water cylinder, it sounds as though the cold water is crossing into the hot service & pushing its way up to the tank as its the only way it can go, sounds as though the cold water connection to the shower is not tank fed & possibly directly off the water main.?
