I just activated my FIXYA account, but decided I want to UNSUBSCRIBE and cancel my account immediately. What do I need to do to completely unsubscribe FIXYA?

Cancelling isn't easy, you have to contact Support. Unsubscribing is easy, but you will only get an email if someone answers your question. Click on your name on upper right side, click 'My Account' and uncheck the items that you don't want.

Thanks for giving Fixya a try, it is a great FREE website.

FixYa Experts, answering your qustions!!

The experts on fixYa will help you as much as they can and with hopes if they do not know or have something that is useful to share they will step back from the problem. I think that some of the people that are looking for help might be looking to much into the site, You have to keep in mind that the help we as the expert community give you is based in the knowledge we have gained over the years of working on and with the products we give advise on.
We as the experts sadly can not tell whats wrong only what we feel is the problem, we CAN tell you things to check and how to check them but without you willing to work with us and understand that what we tell you to check may not always be what wrong, but how we the experts would start to find the problem.
Sometimes the experts may not give you something to check but the people and sources you will need to get the right answers. Don't over the look the help that this can be, this is how people learn more about the problems they are having, by talking to the people that deal with that everyday. Not everyone is always going to have the answers, everyone can learn something everyday.
You will be able to tell the differences between someone that is unsure of the answers they are giving you and someone that has taken the time to answer your questions and give you worth while advise. I would suggest that even if the answer a expert gives you is not what you need or helpful thank them for there time. We are here to help you as best as we can and it is always nice when someone sees the time invested into each problem.
M.Woodring
FixYa Expert

I have unsubscribed yet you still keep emailing me. STOP

I have unsubscribed yet you still keep emailing me. STOP

There are things you should unsubscribe from, and there are things you should never unsubscribe from.
The rules are simple:
 • If you subscribed to a newsletter, clicked "yes, send me more info", or have some kind of a business relationship with the entity sending you email (such as having purchased something from them in the past), then it's probably legitimate mail, and you should use the unsubscribe link.
 • If you've never heard of the sender and have no relationship with whatever is being promoted or discussed in the email, then it's likely spam, and you should not use the unsubscribe link.
It's unfortunate we even have to think about these things, but the fact is, spam continues to be a problem. Fortunately, a few moments of thought ("is this email legitimate?") and the simple rules above should make it fairly clear on when it is and is not safe to unsubscribe.
For spam, look into any of a number of anti-spam solutions and/or filters provided by your email program or ISP
And never use the "This is Spam" button on email you asked for.

Unsubscribe me as I never subscribe. It came up with Costco.

The next time you receive one of these emails, look at the bottom for "unsubscribe" and click there to stop receiving these from Costco. Fixya can only make a recommendation at your request and you will have to unsubscribe using your own device.

I have an unsubscribe folder in yahoo mail. It doesn't not seem to be working. Any item I move there just sits there. I used to get an email from Other In Box telling me that I had been removed

If you're unsubscribing from something, you have to follow the instructions for that individual service. You can't just name a folder "unsubscribe" and get removed from mailing lists.

I wish to unsubscribe. h.h.mccrea

I dont know what you want to unsubscribe to ... you didnt say ... this is not the place to do it for ANY subscription ... this is a help site.

If you want to unsubscribe to a service provided by FixYa.com ... you NEED to review the terms of use page which will tell you the process ... otherwise ... you will not be unsubscribed. Find the link at the bottom of the page here.
