SOURCE: Samsung LN52A550P3FXZA LCD had clicking

Hi.

If there are very faint picture in background, then the back light system is not working. That means that problem is either inverter powering the lamps with AC, main controller board managing the inverter, or PSU providing primary DC voltage to the inverter.
In your case the PSU was defective. The damage may have concerned more components apart the capacitors (resistors, more capacitors, solder joints etc.). Testing is done tracking voltage to inverter. The first thing to test is voltage to inverter from PSU. A general procedure is described here.
This test is done reading the DC voltage from the PSU to main controller. A malfunctioning controller board may not turn on inverter. Voltage in input and high voltage on inverter must also be checked. Voltages to check are 120VDC at CN801 on IP board (inverter power board) and DC B13V,B12V,B5V Voltages at BD105L,C1261,BD101 on PSU. For safety reasons testing with power on must be done by a trained person.

To make things easier, the whole service documentation has been uploaded here.

Here parts for this TV.

Regards.

Lg-42px5d-eb tv made pop noise now no picture just sound think its ysus board but dont no were to buy one

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

Printer will not power on even though computer recognizes and making muted clicking noise

Complicated: First remove the rear roller cover and check for jambs or debris. Then Try to clear internal fault memory by unplugging it and pressing power for 20 seconds. A more thorough clearing is by shorting the 2 capacitors on the small circuit board. (UNPLUGGED of course.)

Samsung LCD tv wont turn on

what the full model number of your tv?
the clicking sound is the result of a faulty power supply, some capacitors(blown heads) on the power supply for the output voltage rail of the mains board need to be replaced.

RCA MODEL F31672ET

You have a Tuner on Board that needs reworked. You must remove the bottom shield and resolder about 20 points. As for the sound problem you may by now have a bad eeprom [location U3201]. We may be out of Horizontal Frequency as well. First fix the tuner then replace the eeprom.[Iwould install an eight pin IC socket upon removal of eeprom, then you can insert or remove the new eeprom anytime after this]. And also check capacitors C4404 200V at 2.2MF, C4105 200V 10MF Will be bad in this case, C4127 and C4709 these may be weak. This shuld repair your TV. PS the eeprom part# is 223957. Before you change the eeprom see if you can get a good picture after resoldering the Tuner. This is delicate work so be careful or you will destroy the TV. If you do have a good video and no sound, clip R1915, this will defeat the mute, but sound will return. Just so you know repairing this TV is quite complicated good luck.

Insignia tv will not turn on, {power up}

That is usually a faulty power adapter.

Sometimes a faulty inverter board can do the same, but in that case you often get sound with no picture for a while before the the inverter comes up.

In your case it is probably a blown capacitor on power supply board.

ADCOM GFA 5802 POWER AMP NO SOUND, BUT POWERS UP.

Remove the output transistors and measure each of the sets of 3 pads and report the voltage readings here. I suspect that you have either a blown driver circuit or output transistors. The voltage readings will give me an idea on where to start looking for specifics.

Thanks,
Dan

Popping noise while computer is powering down. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Lower your main sound volume. Double click the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of your windows.(was it maxed out?)

go into control panel /sounds and select a lower bass setting in your sound settings. You usually have a choice of rock & roll ( lots of bass) opera setting, classical etc.. choose one with less bass.

Make sure your LINE IN is DISABLED. It may be causing this static feedback.

You may have blown your speakers by playing sound way too loud. You may need to buy new speakers.

Thank you and Good luck. *s*
