Hi, I think its compatible with Dell Inspiron as long as the 320GB uses the same cable like IDE or SATA with that dell inspiron, and I think if ever your machine right now uses on the IDE cable it can still handel a 320GB capacity because an IDE cable can accomodate up to 500GB size Harddrive. Also I would suggest that if this would work on your machine try partioning your 320GB to one 60GB for your operating system and the other space is for your data storage. Hope this helps

Hi Jascent,

Please let me know if the computer is prompting for a password or the screen is just not working. Also email me the system service tag along with customer name, place of purchase, address, email address and phone number to [email protected] there is a password prompt then do send me a picture of the same then I can check and see what can be done.

Thanks and Regards.

The power button will not turn on computer

You can try a little silicon spray, Mind the over spray, perhaps spray on a Q tip and let it run into the area around the button OR disassemble the laptop and clean.

I keep getting a small window popping up that says Error at top and in the box is Unknown switch--auto. How do I get rid of it?

If you know what update is causing the problem you can uninstall it and go back to the previous version, your computer will be fine sometimes the updates are not compatible or maybe theres just some bugs to work out.

Dell inspiron 1545, 3gb ram,320gb hd. but no graphics card. there are any solution like graphics acce. software or anything.

this should come with an integrated video card that is part of the motherboard. Normally, Intel or Nvidia. Go to the support.dell.com web site, click the links for Drivers, enter your Service Tag and go to the Video category to download the applicable video driver for your system.

I replaced my HD on Dell inspiron 9300 and it won't recognize the new drive. The new drive was also purchased from Dell and was one that was compatible with the computer. It's saying there's no bootable HD...

It probably has found your new HD, you need watch the screen as you attempt to boot. Failing that enter the bios (usually " hit DEL to enter setup" appears on the screen. Don't change anything but just check to see if the bios has detected a hard drive.

Now .......... the reason why it won't boot is because you have to re-install windows onto the hard drive.
