Can you fix a lithium battery?

The Makita 18V LXT Lithium - Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit Model BTD140 us the BL1830 battery, there are several types for it, 1.5Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0 Ah. Maybe 5.0Ah battery for it will be available. And, the inside of the BL1830 uses the 18650 battery cell. If you have a good knowledge and skill about electronic, you can buy some 18650 cell to do it yourself. If not, I suggest you to buy a brand new one.

You can buy some original battery for replacement battery for Makita BTD140 Battery

How do i convert a makita charger model DC18RC at 110 volt to 240 volts?

The DC18RC are most likely to charged the BL1830 battery, which is the most popular of 18V Makita power tools. It is a Li-ion battery.

And the DC18RC battery charger has two volt 110 Volt and 240 Volt.

The 240 Volt DC18RC charger can replace model DC18RA & DC18SD because of its improved performance and full compatibility with Makita's NEW 'Star' labelled batteries that communicate between the tool, battery & charger. And, it is a fast charger.

It can charge a Makita BL1830 Battery in approx 22 minutes.

But, I do not recommend to convert a makita charger model DC18RC at 110 volt to 240 volts.

The reason is as below:

1. This will void product warranty ! If you follow this mod, you do it on your own risk !

2. There are several comments that described
same model # but with different design and components.
Please beware that this mod might not work on your charger
or worst, will damage it.
Only perform this mod if you know your way around with electronics !

My dc18ra makita battery charger flashes red and green lights no matter how many bateries i try

The pcb inside the battery has a microcontroller that monitor the charges and charge cycle. When the cell falls below a certain voltage, it will instruct the charger not to charge and will show with a red-green flashing light. If the battery has been tried 3 times in succession then the pcb will brick itself from the makita charger. So first replace the bad cells. There are 2 solutions at this moment: charge with a 3rd party lithium charger like the imax b6 or replace the pcb with a working one. check out my blog on http://mkbl1830.blogspot.com/

Hi, I have repaired 3 Makita 18V 3Ah Li-Ion batteries recently by removing good cells from other faulty batteries. The Voltages are good now on all 3 and they charge/discharge OK on my own charger but...

You can get a 18V replacement Makita battery for your drill. The replacement one is cheaper. Replacement MAKITA BL1830 battery pack 100% compatible with the original BL1830 battery, high quality, wholesale price.

Heater running at max temp all of the time even when temp controls set at lowest setting and air con switched on

You need to check the twin solenoid heat control valve found on the RHD side down by the base of the radiator. When these fail they mostly fail in the ''open'' state so hot water is constantly supplied to the heater. Possible causes 1 solenoid valve failed 2 cables and connectors to valve faulty (often suffer from corrosion and damage- inspect carefully) 3 voltage signals to valve from control module missing, the modules can suffer from a blown output transistor or damaged PCB tracks caused by high current shorting - (easily repairable) If its any comfort - I currently have a solenoid failure on one side of my valve so the passenger is roasting whilst I'm okay, good job its winter here ! I have checked all the above and know its a faulty valve so I will have to change it - but its a ***** of a job as there is no room to move !! hope this has helped - good luck !

I have a Rheem tanklees water heater, model RTG-74XN-2. The remote shows the following error code. C4 then the number 76 then C4 then 76. What does this code mean??

Contact Paloma/Rheem 866-720-2076. Super nice! I just called regarding mine. Having same problem Rheem Paloma sending parts out tomorrow overnite. Try turn it on/ off by moving tiny switch under the unit that tells you the temperature. Run your fingers along the bottom to find it. That is a temporary fix. Below is a website with all the error codes, so you know what is wrong. Good luck and blessings!

Why does it flash green to red and not charging

it means the battery is broke :( had the same problem with two of mine, i took them apart and found two damaged cells in both, so managed to make one out of two so to speck. Problem is the pcb is telling the charger the bat is broke, seems you only get 2 goes when it flashes red/green something i didnt know,
So if you do manage to fix/replace the cells you'll probably end up with the same problem i've got now!
I've looked about but no one seems to know or everyone is keeping it to thereselves, but im sure there must be away.
I'm not sure if this helps you but just saying wot will happen next if you replace the damaged cells there are 10 in total 4volts each
Good luck

MAKITA LXT BL1830 18V LITHIUM-ION 3.0AH BATTERY

If the charge count on the batteries is under 300, Makita will replace them. Makita has a known defect in this battery that causes the battery to shut down before it is dead. So as of now they are exchanging ones with low use.

If they are truly defective and makita won't replace, you have to open them, find the dead cell or blown fuse, and replace. Search youtube makita battery for a video on repairing this battery. But once the red and green lights on the charger flash, the the battery can't be charged on a Makita charger -- it's been locked. So use a third party charger.

You are having a communication fault with remote control...........#1...Check remote control wiring for loose or damaged connection. #2-Bypass remote control cable by connecting remote control directly to remote control terminals on PCB. Repalce caable if found to be faulty #3- Repalce remote control and #4- replace the PCB. These are items connected to your problem....it may be anyone of these....Good Luck
