I have found that if I borrow my nephews cord and plug the wii into it mine will come on. He can then plug mine into his and it will work fine. He had the same thing happen to his so he came and plugged his into my power cord and his worked fine. So every time it happens we switch power cords. Unplugging it for 15 minutes has not worked getting a spare power cord cord will reset it.

  • mareed2my Mar 15, 2009

We played the WII just about everyday since we got it in January'09 and then we didn't play it for about 2wks and went to turn it on the other day (around the 10 of March) and it will not turn on. We have tried unplugging from wall for 15 min up to an hour. Plus have tried blowing air into vents on console... Nothing.... Still will not come on.. We have even tried changing plug in sockets... Still nothing... Any ideas?

  • RezChan Mar 15, 2009

I used my Wii around the 16th of February, but haven't used it since. It's been about 3 weeks since I last used it, and now it won't turn on at all. I've tried using different outlets, but it's still not working. Any solutions?

First things first. We'll start from the beginning. Unplug the AC Adapter from the wall and from the Wii. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Then plug it back in. 9 times out of 10 your power supply needs to be reset. The only way to reset it is to unplug it from the wall and the wii and let it sit for 15 min. Try this first and report back if it worked. Even if you think you have done this already do it again.

My wii was working fine last night until the batteries in the motes went dead. we replaced the batteries and tried to sync them back in. now the wii menu will not load and tv screen stays black. have...

Assuming you did not tamper with the system (mod it to play burntgames) then that is usually caused by the BlueTooth module not working.

If it's under warranty then send it back to Nintendo. They are very quick and very good.

If it's not, you could try replacing the Bluetooth module yourself. Iget mine from http://parts.consolerepairguy.com for about $22. I fixconsoles so I know that is usually the cause.

Good luck!

My wii fit disk wont work

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Storm last night, now Wii won't power up

Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!
