Not condensing Hi! I have a Maytag model M7DH65B2A Rev - A dehumidifier. I just recently plugged it for the start of summer. It runs almost continuously but it does not collect any water in the bucket. I'm guessing the condenser is gone but not sure. Can this be fixed? It is 5 years old I think. Thanks!

Hi! Your dehumidifier was made by Fedders for Maytag. However, Fedders as it used to be, not longer exist. It is now Airwell-Fedders. And they don't provide a download feature. However, you can call their Customer Service Dept 866-829-2440, and they may be able to email you a manual for your model. Be sure to have your correct model number handy, when you call.

Hello,

First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to the lowest humidity setting and running it again.

Next, test the dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue.

This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.

Can you check that the tank is signalling the machine that it is in. Usually there is a float of some type that protrudes from the tank and hits a switch to tell the machine it is there but not full. See if you can hit this switch manually to check if it will go on.

I have the same unit and found that a sensor that attaches to the evaporator and the attachment holding it to the coil rusted away. Made a new clip from copper tubing and now it works again.

Go to www.maytag.com. Go to literature and manuals. Enter model number and download operating manual.

call 1-866-629-8241. they are no longer honoring the warranty, because the maker, fedders, went bankrupt. they will send you a prorated check. we had two months to go on ours and they sent us a check for $14 and change. you must have documentation.

Clean it - this model collects mold if the drain hole gets plugged. You will need to take it apart to do so.
