The lower door of my Heil Quaker gas furnace is missing the male part that is supposed to be on the door. The female part is on the furnace. This lower lower has a shut down switch which shuts the furnace off when the door is open. Without the male part, the door cannot be shut. I am using duct tape to keep the door shut. I need that door male part. Bob

SOURCE: Carrier 58 Series Furnace Blower Motor Won't Shut Off

Yes. If the high limit is tripped, the furnace will bring on the fan continuously until the limit resets. Often, they will not reset if tripped repeatedly. If the furnace is too large for your application, you probably are not able to move enough air to keep the heat exchanger cool enough.

SOURCE: furnace wont start. heil gas furnace. on initial

Yes, inspect the air intake, exhaust pipe, filter and condensate piping for blockage or moisture. Also check for a hole in the hose that goes from the small exhaust blower to the pressure switch or a bad connection on the switch or control board. You may be able to temporalily jump the switch for diagnostic purposes only.

The pilot light on my heil quaker furnace won't stay lit. I replaced the thermocouple (man was that a task, between the design of the furnace, and its placement in my attic) but that didn't change...

Make sure the thermocouple is clearly in the heart of the flame. Make sure the thermocouple is securely and properly connected to the gas valve. Obviously make sure it is the correct thermocouple. Gas valves do go bad, so it could be that but that is fairly rare. Good luck.

I have an older model heil quaker natural gas furnace. the wiring to the blower limit switch has dry rot and melted thru causing a short. is this common? can i just rewire or may there be other problems

Test to make sure the limit switch is still working prior to the rewire. Use an Ohm meter and test for continuity. If good, use some good quality 14 or 12 guage wire to rewire. If the unit has an in-line fuse, you will need to replace that as well.

I have a heil heater that is natural gas and if i set it below 65 degress at night it wont come on i have to rest the system for it to come back on and this only happens at night when i turn it down for...

Try setting it to 67 or 68, and see if it does the same. also, check the diagnostic light, probably visible through the lower furnace door. If so, shut down, take off the doors and find the diagnostic codes ,usually on the inside of the lower door.check blinks when it shuts down first.
