Won't heat where is the fuse? the ignitor isn't glowing, i've been told to jump the fuse. if it glows with the fuse replaced, fixed...if not, can i even get to the ignitor myself? i can't see it after opening the back and top. i only have a small square in front to peek into. front doesn't open.

The 4500 John Deere tractor sounds like the glow plugs are not working. Checked voltage at the glow plugs to make sure that there is 12 DC volts.(Might have to remove main wire from the glow plugs to check!) If no voltage at glow plugs there maybe a bad fuse,relay or wire connection in the glow plug circuit. If there is 12 DC volts at the glow plugs, it is possible that the glow plugs need to be replaced.

if it gas and the bake isn't working correctly,first thing that usually goes is the ignitor,sometimes the ignitor will glow but won't lite the flame,it works on amps. a flat ignitor takes 3.2 amps to open the gas valve a round one os 2.5 amps.so the easiest way to check it is start the oven,if you can't see the ignitor glowing orange then remove the racks and the floor of the oven so you can see it,when the ignitor starts to glow it should ignite the flame within 40 seconds,if not change out the ignitor,if the ignitor doesn't glow then you need a meter to check it for continuity,disconnect the ignitor wires and check it with a meter,set it on say 20k ohms,touch the leeds to the ignitor wires,if it stays on 1 then the ignitor is bad,if you get any other reading other than 1 then it's good and you have a problem somewhere else but like i said most of the time it will be the ignitor.

if the ignitor is lighting or glowing its fine,, what you need to check are the thermostats in the rear of the machine, look here for what they look like and ways to test them

next time send the brand name and model number so i can look up your machine,if it's a gas stove most likely it will be a bad ignitor,even if the ignitor glows it still could be bad,if the flame doesn't ignite and the ignitor is glowing change it out,if it isn't glowing pull out the ignitor and check it with a meter,common problem.

dont forget about thermal fuse on back of dryer white plastic with two wires can jump out for testing see if you get heat if so replace thermal fuse and clean venting adn venting flapper for opening and closing .... if no heat tthen open lint screen on top of dryer remove two phillips screws pull lid forward from back corners towards u and lift lid up remove front screws should be two 5/16 screws on in each corner and door switch harness connected lift front upwards and to the right remove drum belt tensioner bottom right side .. release belt remove drum set out of the way ... plug in dryer watch ignitor in burner tube bottom left corner should glow redish orange then a click and then a flame

no glow aslong as thermal fuse has been checked bad ignitor....

if glows and no click replace flame switch black and silver box on left side of burner tube

if glows and clicks and no flame replace two black round coils on top of gas valve

does the ignitor glow?if it doesn't check the sensor for continuity,if it is glowing then you could have bad gas coils or a bad gas valve,let me know if it's glowing and send the full model number,you shouldn't jump out any of the parts,just check them with a meter,if it's bad change it out,if the fuse was bad it most likely popped from a dirty dryer,you most likely have a blocked vent line or the duct is backed up where the lint filter slides into,you could have damaged something else by jumping out the fuse,let me know what you find

its a bad ignitor
the glow should be almost white hot
this heat is what opens the gas valve
dont go looking for a fuse

You have a bad thermo switch, unplug, open back of dryer, switches are quarter size round and two wires hooked to them, also on is thin and 2" long sually white with two wires ooked to it. Check these with a tester, just like you test a fuse, from one side to the other. When you find the bad one, jump from one side to the other, plug dryer in and see if it works, it will if switch is bad. Then replace bad one. Do not leave jumped, if dryer overheats it will not shut off and could cause a fire. Jumping is just for test only.

if ignitor not coming on could be flame sensor mounted on side of burner housing or ignitor ..if ignitor glowing but burner no lighting replace both solenoids bad connections interally on solenoids..also if ignitor not glowing possible small white thermal fuse open.. sensor and fuse can be jumped across to confirm ..

huntman, the model posted shows as a gas dryer. In the lower left side there is a square plastic peep hole. Take a putty knife and pull it off. Set the dryer to high heat and take a look in the hole. Does the ignitor glow? If it doesn't you either have a bad thermal fuse or a bad ignitor. Start with the thermal fuse. You will have to remove the back panel to get at it. I will attach a photo. You can ohm it out, or just jump the wires temp. to see if the ignitor glows. If theral fuse is good and the ignitor does glow, you probabley have a bad set of coils. These sit on the gas valve are easy to replace. The timer won't advance without the heat. Check this out first...Catriver..post back.
