My fridge started making a weird noise not too long ago. Now the fridge isn't cold and everything in the freezer is melting. The read out still says that everything is the right temp, but the melted ice tells me otherwise. Recently my daughter found out how to operate the buttons and has been pushing them a lot, but we change them quickly.
My frezer is nt frosing. wht can i do?
It's probably too late for you. It looks like it's been a while. But my Samsung RB2155SH had a similar problem. In my case, I bought it broken and then fixed it for myself. The freezer fan was stuck against the ice formed on the evaporator in the freezer. This lead to the early failure of the freezer fan. So I replaced the freezer fan and discovered that the refrigerator would not defrost- or more accurately- it would enter defrost mode and then never come back out again. And... the defrost heater was not even coming on to melt the ice. At first I just unplugged for three seconds about four times a day. But... that got old and I ran out of other things to work on. So I did some troubleshooting and found that the thermal fuses were both open. They are made to melt and open at 77 degrees farhenheit!!! I think that the previous owner must have let it sit in his garage in the summer unplugged and the thermal fuses melted from ambient heat. They are intended to melt/open if the defrost heater gets "carried away." I just removed the thermal fuse in the fridge and replaced it with a cap nut for now. I'll order the parts in just a minute. Defrost was continuing on indefinitely because the evap temp was never reaching the intended temparature. Hope this helps someone.

I would have the refrigerator / freezer checked out by a serv tech mainly because if it is a compressor, this would not be something that can be done by as customer, but it could be something internal like a fan or a fan motor that blows the cold air or a bad thermostat or sending unit – the weird noise is something internal that really should be check out by a serv tech before you lose everything as far as food, etc. – the refrigerator is a sealed unit and is hard for a customer to service unless they have serviced the unit before.
