I cant stop my printer printing both sides of the paper

After you attach the two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) to your product, you do not have the option to print on both sides of the paper when you try to print. The two-sided printing option is not available in the print dialog box.
NOTE: The HP Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer) ships with some printer models and is available as an optional accessory for others. Solution First, choose your operating system. Next, follow the steps to make sure that your printer driver recognizes the duplexer.   4. Click the plus sign (+ ) next to Installable Options to expand the list.
  5. Click Duplex Unit (for two-sided printing) , and then select Installed from the drop-down list.

Step two: Set the Two-sided printing preference
  1. Click Start , click Control Panel , and then click Printers and Faxes .
  2. Right-click the printer icon (c01601478.gif ) for your HP product.

  4. In the Paper Saving Options area, select Automatic from the Two-sided printing drop-down list.

Laptop running XP desires to connect to desktop running windows 7-driver needed for HP 2840 color laserjet before connection to windows 7 desktop-is driver put on laptop or desktop

There is no driver for win 7, although if you are running on windows 7 32bit there is a work around. Download the software for windows vista 32 bit for the 2840.

You need the correct drivers for the printer. Go to Dell's support page and download and install the Windows 7 driver.

I cant connect to network i have

You may have to go through the printer settings and print off a network configuration page on the printer.

On that page it will state the ip address of the printer.
you can take the ip address and you can use it to set the printer up on your windows 7 computer. you may need the driver for the printer if it is not included in windows 7.

Try plugging the printer into a different pc and see if you can see it from windows 7. Windows 7 has a more secure network setting.
