VS-50111 and horizontal lines appear and shuts off

I turn on my VS-50111 and horizontal lines on my screen appear. The lines blink on and off then my tv shuts off. I cant turn it on for another 30 mins or so and it happens all over. Is my tube going out?

Nope, But your convergenjce chip is about to die. i would turn it off and leave it off and call a tech to rectify it before it takes out the whole board or all 3 as some capacitors are also overheating. Parts $100+Labour of about 1.5 hrs at this stage! later it will be $600

I own a Mitsubishi HD 1080 series HD TV; MODEL#VS-50111. Recently the TV shut itself off after a few minutes of operation. I unplugged it and after a few hours, plugged it in and it came on for about 5...

I believe it is going to be a major repair and I would hesitate to invest much money into it. I think the age of this set is older than 5 years. The VS model series were manufactures before the WS model series and they have been around for 8 years or so. Never the less, parts availability is getting tougher. If your pain thresh hold is 300.00 or 400.00
go for it. If not, check out new sets.

Mitsubishi #VS-45605

We had a blue cone on the screen. We have adjusted the sharpness, contrast, and cross hairs. The cone has almost completely disappeared, but we still have blue shadows. Could this mean a blown color tube?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

Good luck...

Loss of horizontal deflection is what code 23 means in that model.
