Where does washer go for 12h-6h/c stem from Danco for faucet?

I have a 12h-6h/c stem from Danco for a Price Pfister faucet. The bubble pack comes with a loose washer, but there is no indication where the washer goes. It does not have an obvious location. If I put it on the bottom of the stem, it falls off. If I put it on the top of the stem, there is no place in which it can create a seal. Where does the washer go?

Is it brass, stainless, plastic or rubber? I think a stainless one might be for the knob screw, I don't think there is one inside, it might just have fallen into the pack. We get weird stuff all the time that doesn't belong. Hope this helps.

If it is red in color it is a #38 fiber washer and is the cap thread gasket.

Water comes out after faucet is shut off

You may need to replace the cartridge(s) or rubber washers on the valve stems. Depends on what model faucet you have.

Price Pfister 3pc h/c & diverter leak

If you have the Price Pfister stems they leak or will , even after replaced with a new seat washer . Try switching factory flat washer with cone shape washer and always check the brass seat in manifold for cracks, very seldom replaced very cheap pack of 10 5$ save that water we take for granted!

Stuck pfister faucet sleeve

  1. 2_25_2013_3_58_17_pm.gif

  2. Thanks to Danny Paccho I purchased a wrench to use in removing the sleeve from Geers Plumbing

  3. Then , removed the \'87 Price Pfister faucet housing from the basin by disconnecting the 2 pipes under the basin and removing the top basin nut; inserted the wrench into the top, turning counter-clockwise until it locked (er tightened a bit) and hammered it out ,gently?, to not damage the escutcheon threads , or the basin nut.

I bought the Danco replacement stem for a milwaukee faucet(part 4s-6h/c) it is leaking from the handle... do I need to replace the plastic part that runs back into the pipe? Is there an easy way to remove...

Sometimes on the stems on the side the handle attaches is a nut that can be tightened. Inside this nut is a rubber or other type of seal. tightening this nut stops the water from coming out of the handle. If the nut has already been tightened then possibly need to replace this rubber seal.

Kitchen Faucet Leak

The stem and washers inside the faucet need to be replaced.

If you Do it yourself the parts typically will cost you less than 20 bucks.

Most plumbers will charge 75 to 100 for this relatively simple Job.

You can order parts directly from the manufacturer, or from a local plumbing supply house.
The faucet may still be under warranty and the parts would be free. Here is ther number for Price pfister.
