I have 4 fans all on same code how do i change

In order to maintain proper powertrain cooling requirements, and to reduce the cooling fan noise as it is in use, the PCM uses a signal from the cooling fan to assess its speed. If the speed of the fan is higher or lower than the manufacturer’s specifications, the PCM will store the code P0526.

What causes the P0526 code?
In most cases, the P0526 code is caused by a faulty cooling fan motor. However, this code may also be stored due to:

Faulty cooling fan relay
Corroded or loose electrical components
Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
Shorted or open electrical wiring, which may cause a blown fuse
Faulty cooling fan

Don't forget you have to change the codes in BOTH the receiver & transmitter.

You need to remove the faceplate that covers the remote sensor on the fan - this is likely to be at the very top, closest to the ceiling. You should find a small 'box' that will probably have two or three switches that can be placed in one of two positions. For example 000, 100, 010, 011 etc. Just change one of the switches to another position and that will then be a different code to the one set on your remote.

If you want to operate the fan that you have just change you will need another remote wit the same code that you have just set.

There should be a set of very small switches that will change the code for each fan. Seems they must both be set to the same code. Re-set one controller and fan for one code and leave the other alone. Very small switches.

you probably have a neighbor with the same remote .. each fan has a set of code switches on its receiver .. what ever code is selected by the little switches on the receiver (box in the fan) also must be set into the remote control (code switches in the battery compartment of the remote) .. either you or your neighbor will have to change their code ..different codes wont interfere with each other ... if the fan came with the remote control then the switches might be available on the top of the motor housing .. remotes that have been added on require that the lamp section be removed to get access to the receiver .. some older fans dont have a code selection .. the code is stamped on the receiver .. in that case then maybe your neighbor could change his code ...

once in a while a strong or local transmitter will interfere and set the fan on .. if you are near a radio transmitter, CB or ham radio ..

Both the remote and reciever in the fan base have the ability to have the codes changed. What is happening is you are getting radio interference that is causing the problem. Change the codes by either switching the switches in different positions or adding more dip clips that came with the fan. In any case change the codes in both the reciever and remote to the same code and you should no longer have a problem. Usually the place to change the code in the remote is in the battery area and are small switches (usually 5 or 6 of them) and unfortunately you will have to take the fan down to do the one there.

There are dip-switches in both the remote and the fan. You need to change the switches on one of your fans.

Think we've figured out that a neighbor has the same remote code as we do and we will have to change our code. (This fan is out on our screened porch and the homes are close together here.)

I have three Hampton Bay Ceiling fans with remotes for eight years. I doesn't help when a neighbor buys the same make and model. So, I had to come up with a different code for mine. I had to change the code for the remote and match it with the code in the fan. To change the code in the fan, that depends on the type of fan you have, some you would need to look on top of the fan and use a skinny stick to change the code, other's you would need to take the light fixture down to get to the controller box to change the code. I have both types, this is how know. PS. if ever, which will happen, if the fan doesn't respond to the remote then you would need to replace the controller inside the fan.
