Flash won`t work

Its a sony dsc-w50 there is a a flash sign flashing when turned on 7 a number flashing its E:91:01 no flash at all working

Sony DSC-W50 camera Error msg E:91:01

Hi,

Please follow the instructions given below
1. Turn OFF cam
2. Remove the battery or the power supply
3. Turn the switch to CAMERA for about 30 sec
4. Turn the switch to OFF
5. Install the battery or power supply
6. Turn the switch to MEMORY
7. Open the LCD cover and press the RESET button ( small inner button )
8. You will be prompt to adjust date/time. Do it
9. Take some pictures


Second step:
1)at setup do a initialize.
2)go to flash function to turn off the flash (must do it fast,b4 the E91:01 appear,if not you need to reset it again )
by now E91:01 will never appear.you can use it like normal,be sure not to turn on your flash again or go to night mode.if not you need to perform step 1 & 2 again.

It's a flash error. Could be flash fuse or flash board. If you have a multimeter and you're ready to open it, contact me at [email protected] or contact your local Sony service center.

Flash symbol flahing with flashing number E9101 but does not flash only infer red light

Try this........

1. Turn OFF cam
2. Remove the battery or the power supply

Flash not working

E91:01 is the code the camera provides to the service technician to tell him which part of the flash is not working.

In your case if you have a DSC-W50 camera you are lucky as this flash unit is replaced as a complete assembly.

Contact your nearest Sony dealer. It shiuld not cost more than 1/5 of what you paid for the camera - so should be worth while fixing.

The flash circuit has gone out the squilling noise is the flash compasitor popped and the acid inside is burning.

Flash is inconsistent

I have the same issue. One picture the flash is perfect the next there seems to be a "half" powered flash and the pic is dark

Flash

Did you try to reinitialize? Setup menu go down to the third Setup#1 menu and make sure you click OK to reinitialize. That's what the manual said.
