I have an LG dishwasher stopped with IE error message.
Hi there, I have an LG dishwasher which stopped mid-cycle with an IE error message. Dishwasher is approx 2 years old. Have tried turning it off and starting it again only to have the same IE message come up, this time about 2 mins in to the cycle. Have checked, and there is nothing clogging all of the obvious areas. Any suggestions please? KP

Hi Ray.
i found this out.
The reason for the dishwasher to stop mid cycle is that the thermal fuse is shorting out because it is either fouled, dirty, broken, or loosely connected. If your dishwasher is older, the thermal fuse is used as a safety switch to stop the motor and circuit board when the dishwasher gets too hot.

My LG dishwasher was doing the same thing. It's 2 1/2 years old. I called LG and they finally did a smart diagnostic test which showed not enough power coming in. I had to call a electrician and he checked both the circuit breaker and the line into the dishwasher and both read at 222 amps. So I called LG back and they gave me the names of three LG repairmen. All three places were over 200 miles from my home and would not come. One said that he does not like working with LG especially if it is still under warranty. But I remembered one review saying that as time goes on the door will not make a complete connection so just slam it and see if it goes. It completes a full cycle and works perfect but I have to slam the door. Hoping this works for a few more years then I will get a new one but not an LG!
HEATING (ELEMENT) ERROR // Water heating error
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate a problem with the water heating circuit. Turn off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes, allowing time for the appliance to cool; then restart the cycle. If error returns, check the heating element for continuity and check the wiring harness for any obvious signs of damage. If the heating element shows infinite resistance after testing with an Ohm meter, replace it.
The first step of a dishwasher is a drain / rinse drain. I would turn the dishwasher off at the socket, turn the nob to the off position only turn this in a clock wise direction IE: the direction the nob would naturally move. Turn on back at the wall and start as you would normally. The dishwasher will empty the water out in its first step then should cycle through as normal.
Error
code IE on LG dishwasher means Inlet error. This error comes up when the Water
Supply Tap is closed or Water Supply is shut off. If water supply is turned on
then make sure that the Inlet Hose is not kinked and water Pressure is not low
(should be above 10 psi). Next thing to check for is Water Inlet Valve, measure
the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ohms) Make sure the filter of
Inlet Valve is not clogged.
Hope this helps... Please post back
for further assistance.
Hi, The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is: 1. Blocked drain hose 2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction) 3. Failing drain motor. else you need to REPLACE THE PCB POWER CONTROL BOARD Good Luck!!!
If you are still having problems with your LG dishwasher, turn off the hot water supply to the dishwasher and remove the hot water inlet pipe (remove the lower, front panel (toe kick plate) )
Check the screen/filter at the water inlet on the dishwasher.
Reconnect the pipe and turn the hot water supply back on.
Test out and enjoy!
I have had this dishwasher about 4 years, it has work beautifully, then one day there just wasn't any power going to it. Have tried different power points and no change. Looked for a fuse, was unable to find one. The power cord coming into the machine is undamaged. Any suggestions.
Hi, had the same problem on a LG LD 12aw5. (No water entering). Check the inlet solonoid. There should be 220V over the solonoid. I replaced the solonoid, at first, just to have the same problem. The problem was a bit more serious, the Triac driving the solonoid burnt out, and the solder on the mainboard keeping the transformer were shot to. I replaced the Triac, soldered the Transformer - and wolla - working.
If water enters - but you sill get the IE error it could be the float(checks the water level). This device tells the machine when there is enough water. If this is stuck, the machine will think no water is entering.
