Hi. Sounds like a loose battery terminal or a faulty in-line battery connector, or a loose terminal on the controller.
Could also be caused by a faulty set of batteries that can't supply enough current ( amps ) to drive the machine.
Could be a siezed brake solenoid stopping the motor from turning. A burnt out motor will also cause this problem. A burnt out motor will have a strong smell of burnt varnish.
What is the history of this machine, has it been sitting unused for a while> Have you had any other problems?
