Archos prob my archos 605 won't turn on, its fully charged but the green light just remains on and nothing comes on screen, ive tried inserting the charging lead again but to no avail

some software was deleted it was not accepting that the file name is FAT32 is currpted

If you are charging it only through the usb be aware that it can take up to 10hrs to charge. If you are using a dock it takes 3-4hours. When it is is charging the green light on the side should be solid. It will blink when fully charged. If it falls outside of the above described please exchange it at the location you bought it if possible or contact archos for further assistance.

Hi have you got your power supply plugged into the charging platform??, It would appear you have insufficient charge in the batteries on the 605.
If you have the USB lead plugged into the charging cradle this would normally ask you to select either charge or usb.
What does the CHG. light on top of the 605 do when you plug the unit into the cradle ?? (steady green-- charging. flashing green-- fully charged)

Hi if the unit has been on charge that long it should be fully charged.
With charging supply connected what is the (CHG) green led doing. (on top of 605) Flashing---fully charged. Steady---charging.

Dont worry .Insert your plug into archos charging line. On home screen of archos asked you to charged or enable option select charge only option and simly get charged yr archos within 3- 4 hrs of time.

check if all the wires are all well soldered in the little black box connector that plug in your archos

The adapter that comes with the Archos 605 must be firmly fixed to the docking station by pressing very firmly with a loud click. It feels delicate so if you only click it lightly it wont connect properly. This is poor design but at least it is OK now.

I was having a similar problem where my 160 gb Archos 605 would not hold a charge even after two days of being plugged in through an AC wall adapter. It worked fine for 5 months without a problem, but then all of the sudden it would not hold a charge even if the LED light was blinking green.

One thing that I found that makes it now hold a charge now is by letting is by plugging it in to a computer. I don't know why, but for some reason, now when I charge it through a computer usb as opposed to the wall adapter, it charges and holds a chrage for over 3 hours. So, maybe try to just let the thing charge through a computer.

Just watching a movie and my archos just froze in mid play , did a switch off to rest it and guess what it wont restart , ses ARCHOS in green at the start but wont reeboot have tried the reset button inside but no joy what so ever , any tips or advice 'or shall i just ship it back to Archos ....
