I have switched from a xm myfi radio to a sirius sportster 5 radio in my truck, the antenna plugs look identical, can i use the installed xm antenna with the new sirius radio?
Not the best plan, but it will work for a little while. The new "SXM" will work, but when the companies were separate the XM and the Sirius antennas were designed to work only on their half of the bandwidth, so sensitivity would be lower and they used different phantom voltages for the amplifier built into the antenna. That being said, I've seen it done.
Not advised. They have different resistance and are set up for different Sat signals. Chances are you will decrease the life of your radio if you get a signal at all.
