Mic I can hear my callers but they cannot hear me without the headset. Does this phone have a mic or must you use a headset for all calls?

This problem is mostly restricted to one of two causes. It is either a fault with your network or a fault with your phone.
It is most likely that the network is great since you can hear the caller clearly. Also you can clarify this by checking the amount of service available on your phone when making the cal.
Most likely, there is a problem with the mic of your phone and as such your voice cannot be transmitted over the phone to the other end of the call. Did your phone drop or hit something hard recently? This could cause the mic to get broken and therefore prevent it from working normally. In this case, the only thing that can be done is to send it to a repairer so the mic can be replaced and it would wok fine. Also, the mic could be blocked by certain substances like dust and also disable the caller from hearing you. In this case you just need to clean the mic with a tiny material like a pin. Be careful while doing this so as not to damage the mic any further.

It's clear that your problem is with the microphone (mic) of your handset. But there's also another chance that mic controller is the faulty, so please use your headset and check if the mic is working with it or not. If the caller on the other end can hear you when you use your headset then i would suggest you to get a new replacement from any mobile repairing shop or from the service center. It'll cost you not much and there are many type of mic available, even if they don't have the mic for your model, they'll fix it easily using a universal mic.

use your headset when you have a call and find out if your voice is audible to the caller if that is be the case then you might have to get the mic of the phone replaced

I just had this same problem. It is a hardware issue. Call verizon back explain the situation, they will call your phone to verify that the mic and speaker aren't working and they will send you a replacement within 2 days.

A temporary solution is plugging a wired headset into the phone and taking it out, it will work for a few hours.

try to format your phone, and check if thhe problem persists.
FOR SOFT-RESET:

- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7780#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345


FOR HARD-RESET:

- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7370#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345


FOR FLASHING- TOTAL RESTORE: (Do this if your phone does not boot up)

1) Remove the battery, and then wait for about 20 min or so before putting it back

2) Press and hold these three keys together -Green dial key, Star key[*], Three key [3]

3) switch ON the phone.

4) Do not let go the three keys until you see the WELCOME screen displayed and just let it complete the boot process.
