These units have a history of fan failure due to inferior 220 volt Italian fan.

I have just had fan fail and retrofitted a ebmpapst blower fan model D2E146HT6702 which is readily available in Aus for around $120.

The fan speed control is by inverter variable output so you don't use all the speed select wires that this fan has. Connect the Red wire on the range hood to the Black on the motor (High speed winding) and the Black on the range hood to the Blue on the motor (Neutral) and the earth to the earth (Green).

Disconnect and toss the cap in the white enclosure under the PC board enclosure (the new fan has the cap on board). Don't know how easy to fit in the range hood as mine is in an acoustic fan housing in the roof (makes it wisper quiet when running)

Fan is not working but makes a humming noise at lower speeds and clanking noise at highest speed. When last working there was the clanking noise when I turned off the fan. Please help.

Then turn it off immediately just to be safe that nothing will be broken, can you see the interior? Is there anything broken or loose that might cause the noize? If yes remove.
If not try to clean it with a little cloth or anything, maybe it is too dusty.

Omega Rangehood not working.

Hello,

One night, my (Omega) range hood also blew with a snap, crackle and pop (flash) also after pressing the light button.

The PCB is charred behind the light switch/toggle thingy.

The PCB is a replaceable part, but out of interest I am curious to learn if I can piggyback the light onto the fan switch.

"Anonymous", at first I thought I may have authored what turned out to be your post.

Many thanks.

Qasair CM900 Rangehood Motor not working properly

I have a twin motor Qasair Heritage 1200mm wide canopy and recently noticed (after 8 years of great service) that one of the motors was having a difficult time getting to high speed compared to the other. Turns out that it is indeed a faulty capacitor. I had the service tech out from Condari, and both capacitors replaced, restoring the high speed function to both fans. Call out fee was $99, each capacitor $15 and labour amounted to $25 for a grand total of $154. Very happy to hear the full force of the fans again! Here is a picture of the old capacitor, which is housed inside the metal box on the side of the fan unit.

Problem changing halogen bulbs on perla rangehood

The more I worked with it, the more I discovered that the real problem was that a screw was not all the way screwed in and it was preventing the panel from sliding. Another problem I may have is finding the glass covered halogen bulb.

Rangehood malfunction

My Baumatic Rangehood model BAISL92.2 had the letter A flashing. I was advised by a repairman that it indicated the filters needed to be cleaned with warm soapy water. Apparently in my particular model there is a built in 30 hour timer for when the filters need to be cleaned. To remove the flashing letter A, I was advised to clean the filters, turn off the rangehood and while it was off, press the (-) (minus) button and hold for 5 seconds. It beeped and the flashing letter A was removed. This worked for my particular model - I couldn't guarantee it would be the solution for your model. I hope this is some help.
