I had the some problem before, I solved by this:
it is a file for prince of persia saved
copy this file and place it in Local Disk c will be asked to agree to put him in users

that, play the game you'll find it stored for you then make a
new profile Rather than that existing and put your name on it. Enjoy play

Have you tried changing the properties of the shortcut to run in WinXP SP2 compatibility mode?
Right click the shortcut, goto properties/compatibility tab, choose "WinXP SP2 compatibility mode" in the dropdown box, then click apply.
This should solve your problem. If not, come back with a bit more detail, and it can go forward from there.
