On my TI-Nspire, I go to Menu - Calculations - Numerical Derivative. This appears on the screen:
nDeriv(.
I input my expression and variable like this:
nDeriv(Xsquared*, x).
Obviously I couldn't type anything to make the superscript 2*
I press "enter" and this is what comes up:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Variable is not defined
No value is assigned to variable. Use one of the following commands:

I'm lost. I thought this was supposed to be an easy feature to use. Any help to be able to calculate derivatives and integrals would be great.
The newer version of the OS 2.0.0.1188 is quite different from the initial version. It would be a good idea to upgrade the OS.
Back to your question. Since I upgraded my calculator, I am unable to illustrate the calculations with screen captures that are meaningful to you. If you do not mind I will show you how to calculate derivatives and integrals using OS Version 2.0.0.1188
In Calculator Mode
Here are a few screen captures to illustrate the process.
For the numerical integration
Select Calculus (see above)>Numerical Integration>ENTEDerivative feature does not work - e9470c8.jpge in your integral using the template.Derivative feature does not work - 96cff2c.jpge procedure illustrated.
