If this is a Blu Ray Disk then your unit needs a firmware upgrade to be able to play the new Blu ray format. Contact Samsung for the upgrade file, burn to a DVD and run. The update will allow your unit play the new BR Format.

    you can update firmware via USB or internet. Download file from samsung website, than extract file to USB (*.RUF). Wait until update firmware finish. Don't un plug usb or power during update process. If process is finish, bluray will automaticaly turn off and new firmware is installed.
    Second options , you can update firmware from internet connection. All you need just plug in cable to LAN adapter , setup internet connection in setup menu, than select upgrade software in setting menu.

Hello,

I don't think this is a software update issue. Just as you said that the player has the latest firmware installed on it. Software update and latest firmware are the same thing.

I think this is a incompatibility issue. The disc is not 100% compatible with the player and that is why there is no audio via sound.

But one more thing you can try is to enter the player's menu, under settings, check audio settings. You can change the sound settings to mono, save settings and try again.

The new Shreck blue ray disk doesn't play very good (blurry video, hampering voice, steps). What is going on? Avatar and Life blue ray does play OK. Shreck blue ray disk plays well at neighbours.
Check your HDMI connection if that don't help go to samsung.com/support for a firmware update.

I downloaded to the latest firmwire update to my usb for the sharp bd-hp22u player and when i try to install it it keeps saying no update found and i tried two different usb's and the player keeps sayin no...
I had the exact same problem! I realized though that I had to extract the Zipped files so my Sharp BD-HP22U could read them. Basically, I extracted the files onto another USB then placed that into my player and it finally recognized the files and began downloading the update. Avatar (Blu-ray), now plays! However, the chapter selection pops up on and off the screen during play. I guess I'll have to figure that out now. Anyone know how to fix that?
