Getting the jvm error 513 on blackberry curve, i see where they say you need to reload handheld software but how do you do that? I do not have a password for it so I have no idea why the error popped up all of a sudden.

Your blackberry probably just needs a firmware restore. Here's a guide on how to restore the blackberry firmware. Download the Blackberry Desktop manager and run the application loader.

For this as you have tried to reset know you need to reload the OS for this you can first take a back up of the critical data on the handset and then do a wipe hand held and then reload the OS
