I have charged gps and tried to turn it on and it wont. its carging properly. ive tried turning it on when it plugged in and when its not plugged in to the carger.

You need to check if it is properly charged, if it is not properly charged, then it will not come on. Remove the gps, then try to plug it using its adapter, to see if it will charge, if it does, then try to turn it on and it will come on. Test the battery in another magellan gps also to see if it works, if it does not, then replace it, same thing goes to the adapter,if it does not, then replace it with a new one.
This should solve the problem.
Have you charged it using the main charger? It's possible that just
being connected to the PC isn't supplying enough power to get it
properly charged. Try disconnecting it from the PC, plugging it into the
charger and the charger into the wall and leave it for a while. Then
try to turn it on. Do you have a car charger? Try that instead. If that didn't help , then I recommend you to replace the battery .
No you don't unless of course your power supply does not work unless the key is on, otherwise plug one end into the 12 volt supply, the other end into the gps and happy charging.
You either have a bad battery, or a bad power supply that charges the unit (power cord). If you have a friend that also has a PSP, try swapping out the battery to see if that works, and or try another power cord to see if the charging indicator light comes on. I think that possibly your battery is dead and the power cord might be bad. You can find good deals for both the battery and cord on ebay. Good luck!
Have you tried replacing the battery. Wont charge? Sometimes if the battery is totally depleted even the charge light will not go on until the battery reaches a certain level of fill. Are you sure it isnt charging? A new battery will confirm its viability to be able to deliver service in future.
If it does not turn on when you plug it into the computer, yes, it sounds like you may have a dead battery. Your best bet would be to contact Garmin as to how to get it replaced.
