Whirlpool Gas Dryer Model #LGR7648KQ0 has no heat - I cleaned out the vent (it was pretty well clogged!) and then replaced the Fixed highlimit thermostat, the thermal fuse and the dryer cycling thermostat - starts to heat up OK but then heat stops after about 10 mins. Keeps rotating but no heat. Any suggestions, please? Len

The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html this will walk you thru checking them. They are inexpensive and easy to replace.

Testimonial: "Thank you SOO MUCH - the video was very helpful -the removal and replacement of coils was very easy and the problem seems to have been solved for $42! Leonard"

I have a whirlpool Duet gas dryer, model ggw9200lw0. It will glow then heat up but switches off right away.

It sounds to me like your flame is not getting enough air. Make sure that ur screen is clean then clean your dryer vent. The easiest way to see if it is your dryer vent is to take the vent off the back of the dryer. If it runs good without it then you need to clean it. If the dryer heats up a couple times then wont heat up after that then you need to replace the coils

My gas dryer has no heat

long dry times are a venting problem. if no heat at all it could be your ignitor, a thermal fuse, or the secondary gas coils, all are replaceable and reasanoblyy cheap between 30-90 dollars usually so its up to u it u want to repair it.. if long dry times i would unplug the venting from the rear and dry a load if it heats faster than u know ur venting is clogged and u might wanna clean ur ducting and replace that venting tube. also u can go outside while running and see or feel if air is being pushed out while its running hope this helps let me know how it goes

Dryer is taking multiple cycles to dry average weighted clothes/

Make sure the dryer heats up and that the proper cycle is selected. If the dryer doesn't heat, the cause will need to be determined. This can be an ignitor issue, the timer, or a gas supply problem.

If it's heating, check the vent line from the dryer to the outside of the dwelling for lint clogging. Also check the diverter (flapper valve) at the dryer vent outlet to be sure it opens all the way and that the air stream is pretty strong. Lint clogging is one of the most the most common causes of dryers not drying very well or taking an extended drying time period.

If the vent line is longer than 20 feet and has multiple bends, backpressure in the line can cause additional clogging.

I have whirlpool dryer that the heat seems to kick on and off it is gas dryer

If heats for a few minutes then cuts off (heat) , then the 2 coils on the burner valve are probably bad . OR check the vent hose to the outside for good air flow . Sometimes , a dryer is pushed too far back , and it kinks the vent hose . If coils are bad , when dryer cools down , then restarting , cool coils will heat again for a few minutes , then stop heating till they cool off again .

Gas Dryer - takes to long to dry

Friend,
huuum At your service!

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first. If the vent line is kinked or blocked
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE!
Take the vent line off the rear of the dryer and try if it works. If it does you know it's the vent line and not the dryer that's the problem the dryer.

You will be fine
Bless You huuum

Hi I am trying to clean my drain unsder my washer. I do not know how to pull the cover off.?? It appears I need special alan wrenchs for two little screws..?? any ideas??

Though the idea of repairing a clothes dryer can be pretty intimidating, the truth is that some types of repairs are surprisingly easy. Yes, dryers appear to be built like huge, impervious metal boxes, but they are typically pretty easy to open and relatively simple to fix.

As shown at How Clothes Dryers Works, a clothes dryer has a motor that turns a big drum containing the clothes, a heat source for blowing warm air into the drum to dry the clothes, and controls for operating the motor and heat source.
Some dryers have an electric element to do the heating while others utilize a gas flame; the latter must be vented.
Clothes dryer problems generally occur because the heat source doesn't heat properly or the motor fails to turn the drum.
If a gas dryer doesn't dry properly, the first thing to check is the pilot light or igniter--it may not be lighting the burner. The second thing to check is the dryer's vent-if it is clogged with lint, the heating system won't work properly.

Pay attention to basic safety measures when working on a dryer. Always unplug the dryer, and turn off the gas supply to a gas dryer at the appliance shutoff valve.
As with most appliances, maintenance will keep your dryer purring. Clean the lint trap after every load, and clean the vent system once a year.

Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg
