Well check if any of the ports or drivers are disabled
Go to Control Panel click on System and Security and select System.
Then Select Device Manager
In Device Manager choose Universal Serial Bus Controller
Select each Port double click it select Drivers Tab and check if the port is enabled/disabled
Enable if the text near it says "Enable the selected device"
If these don't have any problem then you have to restart your PC and press F2 or F12 to go to Setup page ( when your prompted to press the button or in some cases you may not depends on the PC)
Locate the ports option and enable it if it is disabled
I'm not familiar with the device, but it might be something in the configuration. It could be DHCP, it could be something deeper.
I suggest contact Cisco support directly, they have support forums too.
You can connect them using a x-over cable to an unused port. the switch should detect the other switch and trunk it automatically. (don't connect more than 1 or you will get a switching loop and possibly a broadcast storm... which is bad)
It's possible that the SNMP Status Enabled box is checked on the print server (Printer/Properties/Ports/Port Settings). When you disabled SNMP or changed the community name on the printer, the server was no longer getting status updates and so flagged it as offline. Make sure the community names match.
By default, currently available ThinkPads come with the external serial port disabled and Infrared enabled on COM1. To use the serial port on COM1 you must either disable infrared or change infrared so that it uses alternate resources. If you are not using infrared for printing or file sharing it is recommended that it be disabled. Here are the steps to follow to enable infrared :
1. Double-click your ThinkPad Features or ThinkPad Configuration icon located in the ThinkPad folder on your desktop.
2. Locate the Infrared button located on the left-hand side of this configuration screen and click it once. (Note: If you hold your mouse pointer over any of the icons in this configuration screen the button will be identified at the bottom in the status window.)
3. Change Infrared from "Disable" to "Enable" and click "OK". 4. Locate the serial port icon and click it once. 5. Select serial port "enable" and insure that the COM PORT setting is "COM 1" and click "OK". 6. Shut down and restart the computer.
Make sure you're using the correct console cable...if it's not wired correctly, hyperterminal will continue to give you a blank stare no matter what you do. A great way to verify your cable is to try it on another switch that's working ok. Your hyperterminal comm settings should be 9600 baud, 8 data bits, one stop bit, no parity, and flow control disabled...assuming no one changed the default console settings on the switches.
If you are still having trouble getting a prompt from the console, you can try the following procedure, although this is only known to work on earlier versions of the Baystack switches...
Shut down the power and wait for about a minute. With hyperterminal connected...turn on the power and type "NetICs" (don't include the quotes) within 15 seconds of turning on the power. This should place you in a privileged mode and allow you to use the menu to reset the switches to factory defaults. Good luck!
Hi from the command line interface you will need to login and then type enable (enter) configure (enter), interface fast ethernet all (enter), no shutdown port (port #).
Here is a link to the CLI manual if you need more help:

Let me know how it goes or if you need more help.
