Mantis tiller won't start

Flush out old gas. Check/clean spark plug. Oil filled? Try spraying starter fluid in carb. Carb should not have any oil in it. Change air filter.

My mantis tiller with a honda gx22 engine starts then shuts off after approx. 30 sec.

If your unit has a primer bulb, start your engine . When it starts to die push your primer, if the engine comes back to life you have a carb issue.

What would happen if 2stroke was put in a 4stroke engine ?

What is the question,,gas, oil or what..if you are talking about two stroke gas in a four cycle...no damage if used once and not regular just a lot of smoke the valves and carb would get well oiled..your spark plugs will most likely need cleaning due to the excess oil not igniting..just drain add new fresh gas and ckean the plug..start and now..if you are talking two stoke oil in the block if a four cycle...no damage if you change it..it is still oil but the viscosity would not be correct...just change and mow..good luck..

I added to much oil it leaked out of the carb now when I strat it up it smokes white smoke for a minute then stops and runs fine

If you are concerned, you can remove some of the oil. Place a pan under the mower and loosen the oil pan bolt but do not remove it completely. Drain a few ounces of oil out and then tighten it up. Be sure to take the wire off the spark plug before you do this. The lower oil level should stop the smoking.

White smoke honda mantis rototiller

You're okay the white smoke is the oil burning off the muffler. In time it will stop, just park it somewhere and let it run until it's done. If the problem persists check your air filter and make sure it's not stained with oil, if so you can wash the foam part with soap and water but the paper will need to be replaced. (DO not put foam back on unit until dry.) The oil level should be up to the bottom lip of the dipstick access when the engine is evenly horizontal.

Mantis 2 cycle - tines lose power.

I had this problem today. Loosen the flange bolt. Pull the engine off and check that the hex end of the shaft is lining up with the clutch pad in the engine-that it seats properly. Then make sure the shaft is seated all the way into the worm gear and put the engine back on. You will probably have to wiggle the shaft until it seats into the clutch. Tighten the flange bolt when the engine is seated flush with the worm housing (with no gap). That's all I did and the power is back up. Hopefully you still have your manual with the parts blow-up. (page 29?) BTW, have you checked that the wormgear is greased?

Where do you drain oil on honda gx25 mantis

jj505 has good and bad information.
Honda GX25 is a 4 stroke motor, with oil lubricated crankcase.
Oil drains out the filler.
Oil and gas do not mix on this four stroke.
The PDF below is the Honda manual.
