Instead of putting a gasket on tell him to take out all of the old grease out that is what has broken down and turning into oil causing a leak and if he can repace the seal around the agitator shaft replace the old grease with a high temp bearing grease or a good quality lithium grease

I have model A-200-D Hobart mixer. Serial # 1575984. It is leaking oil into the bowl. Who can I call to get an estimate to service or repair this machine?

The oil leeking into your bowl is old grease that has broken down into oil and is getting past your oil seal you need to take out all of your old grease and oil replace it with hi-temp grease or a good grade lithium grease and replace your agitor shaft oil seal

My Hobart D300 mixer appears to be leaking oil/grease

Hi,I'm a hobart tech and repair these mixer's often. If you see oil in the drip cup then the center shaft seal in the transmission is worn.If there is oil near the transformer then the motor shaft seal is also bad.Hobart doesnt release their service manuals to the public but if you go to their site www.hobartcorp.com you can register for free and get a parts manual thats helpful. If you need help with the repair let me know,i can step you through it.

Hobart D300T mixer oil change.

You can put in a all purpose grease. I use MOBIL 1 Synthetic Grease (RED IN COLOR) and it works fine -- you will need 3 tubs of 16oz's each tub. The cost is 30.00 or so. Make sure to get all of the old grease out and pack around each of the trans and worm shafts with the grease, then pack around the MOTOR GEAR and then put all back together. While running it make sure you can see the grease and hear the noise of the mixer through the 2 caps that are FILL caps on the head of the mixer. ALSO, you will find that you will lose 1st gear IF you have tigtened down too much on the LOCK nut, SOOOO loosen in small increments until all 3 gears are perfect and strong. ALSO, the key to noise adjustment is to Tighten (WHILE MIXER IS RUNNING) slowly the large nut that controls pressure on the worm transmission. The general rule with tigtening this nut is to tighten it till it will not tighten and then back off the nut -- IF the unit when starting does not run or it seems bound up when you first turn it back on, THEN you have tightened it TOO MUCH, SOOO back it off again (loosen it) until it starts smoothly and when you turn the mixer OFF it should come to a slow stop and not abruptly stop the mixer. Hope this helps some of you out there trying to do your own adjustments --

Old hobart s-30 mixer oil

man you got an oldie but goodie mixer!im a hobart service tech for 8 years and have only seen about two dozen, unfortuantly parts for these units are exhuasted.as for the sight glass they do become cloudy over time and you cant determine the oil level.use a heavy gear case oil.the only way of telling is to drain the oil or if the unit is loud you should probably cange the oil.
