Must be a bad regulator. Atmosphere is getting to the pressure regulator .
It is best to leave the tank attached to the grill. Even if no gas is in it to prevent atmosphere from mucking up the innards of that regulator.

How to dismantle to transport

If you want to totally dismantle it, here's a link to the assembly manual for your model grill. I would think that just remove the grill, side burner shelf and the other side shelf would suffice. if you remove the grill grates and flame tamers. In other words anything that's loose in side the grill. If you want to dismantle it all piece by piece, you the link and do everything in reverse.

Low flame - doesn't heat enough

Hi, Patty. The low burner flame on a natural gas grill an be caused by several things.

1. The gas line shutoff valve is not fully open.
2. The burners are clogged and need to be removed and properly cleaned
3. The venturi valve(s), which has spider screens may be clogged.

The things listed above are the top 3 reasons for the low burner flame problem on a Natural Gas Grill.

To help you accomplish the cleaning of the burners and the venturi valves, I have included a link to your Owners Manual, that you can download & print for future reference. It has detailed instructions and diagrams in the Maintenance section, that will show you how to accomplish this.

Hello,
Either the cleaner you used is partially clogging the burner holes or you inadvertently moved the air adjustment and are starving it from getting the air it needs to burn properly. Douglas

Weber Spirit one month old...went out, changed tank, won't light

The regulator that comes with Weber grills shuts the gas flow off if it detects the slightest leak. Disconnect the tank an reconnect. Check connections with soapy water for any leaks. Another problem, though uncommon for a new grill is a defective regulator. You have a 1 year warrenty on your grill so contact Weber if you continue to have problems.
