Repair service for power board B4K-50:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110646032176

As stated in the listing there please note that there are unique board components that are not replaceable...so depending on the failure there's always a risk that the board may not be recoverable.

I have the same set. Actually 2 of the same model. One fell and the screen is cracked. The other just went dead like everyones. About the fuses, how do I know if they are blown. I saw one and it is white. Is that normal or blown. I'm not familiar with these types of fuses. I've only seen the clear ones with the fuse that you can see clearly inside.

Also I was wondering for all of the people who has opened up their tv, did you guys notice anything with the big capacitors on the power boards? I believe there are 4 of them. The ones in my set looked like they got very hot and look like they are going to pop. The tops are popping up round. They are suppose to be flat. I may order the same capacitors and swap them out to see if it helps. Also since I have 2 of the same sets, I'm going to try to see if swapping the boards around will fix the one that didn't crack. I'll do some voltage and continuity checks on each set to see if they check out the same and maybe I can figure out what we need to change out. Since we all seem to have the same problem, it should help everyone out.

Ok i've swapped power supplies from the cracked tv to the one that went black. It worked for me. After replacing the power supplies, the display came back on. I'll swap out boards and do some testing to see where I can trace the problems.

I've traced the problem down to 2 capacitors. After changing them out on the bad PS with the good PS, the bad PS is now working. Screen came back on. I found that the VS voltage had dropped. It's should be around 90v and was only 68v.

New here.. thanks.. I have the same issue as all of you . So the answer is get a new power supply board huh, or check the fuses..? The fuse is all white, so i cant seem to see if it's blown or not. it seems to be a 8ah250v fuse, the ones on the sides are 4ah250v.i'll go to Fry's and get some fuses, if doesnt fix, i'll replace the board. Please confirm?

Problem is with the power supply, you are getting power to the logic board and input board, but the main HV for the panal is dead. With the set unplugged, you can check the supply for any blown fuses.

Flashing power button

Depending on the number of flashes,it could be a power supply or y-sus board. Both parts are silly money. The flashing light indicates a fatal startup error. These units make a great boat anchor for a 16ft boat.

No picture ; no sound

the red blinking light usually has a pattern that gives you a code to the possible problem.
Maybe you have a bad power supply board. You have to open the panel and do a few tests on the power supply's outputs to be sure.
It produces a variety of voltages for different parts of the tv ie. the plasma display panel and the audio system. The components supplying power to the audio system may have failed a year ago and recently the pdp.

plasma tv's are expensive to repair, most of the time you can get a better tv for the same price. You can reduce that cost by learning and troubleshooting it yourself.

Same thing for me. TV just turned off one day and won't come back on. LED flashes red. Someone said it's because a cooling fan went out. If I can't find someone to fix it I'll take it apart and tinker myself. 32" with dvd built in was barely over a year old.

Screen went out

I had the same problem, but I had no sound at all. The power indicator light was flashing green. I tried to unplug the unit and plug it back in, but the light then was red briefly, turned orange then flashing green. What I did to solve the problem was to unplug the set and leave it for a few minutes then plug it back in and hit the front power switch at the same time. Voila! It started working again. Good luck solving this.
