This was a great help to fixing my GE Front LOad washer. When I took out the filter it was filled with stuff that had collected over time. Once I cleaned it up and replaced the filter we were back to washing again. Thank you for the tip it was priceless.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You’ll need to clean the filter which is located on the front bottom of the washing machine right below the washer window. It is held up by three screws. Take out the screws and clean the lint. You’ll find in the lint some small clothing, coins and other small things.

Harm, remove the lower panel and you will see the filter right in front. Unscrew the filter strainer and clean all the lint and debris. This machine has a pressure switch that won't allow a high spin if it detects water in the tub. Therefore you get these pauses and slow tumlbe. Try this and see if it's normal after cleaning the filter...Catriver...post back

SOURCE: GE WBVH6240FWW pause/drain problem

WOW..... That was the easiest repair that I have ever had to do.... We were having the same problems with the washer pausing and have wet clothes when the washer got done. (if it would after prolonged time). The filter was gloged with all kinds of stuff.. But I only made 67 cents.... The screws are on the bottom front down at floor level... you don't even have to move the washer to clean the filter... Had it done in about 15 min. I want to thank everybody above with the info..

Got washer and plugged it in and it said pause in mid cycle

Not enough information really. Model and serial number will help as there are so many brands and each one has a different sequence to reset. Some ge front load machines u unplug the machine then hold the start pause button for 5 seconds. Plug in and check. If ge is stuck locked hold the lock button for 3 seconds. Pausing mid cycle could mean failed water valve, bad door switch, water not turned on etc.however I do not know what machine u are referring to

I just got my ge washer today and it keeps pausing or saying sense. Does anyone know why?

If the program is in a stage where the water needy to be heated, it will pause, If the pausing does not stop, because the water does not become at the right temp. perhaps the heater is defect? If everything takes tooooo long just contact your dealer. Must be lots of warranty time left.

My Frigidaire Affinity is brand new. Just did our first load of laundry and mid cycle it stopped and the PAU is lighting up intermittent with the time left. I have tried everything I can think of and it...

Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

WASHER TROUBLESHOOTING

My GE front loader keeps stopping in the middle of the cycle. It does it over and over and never completes the cycle. It just started doing this a couple of days ago. It took me all day to do one load of laundry the other day. Tried again today with no luck. I tried it on three different cycles and all the same. It just keeps stopping and going to pause. When I shut it off it takes about 20 minutes for the door to unlock. Is this problem worth fixing or should I junk it?

My GE washer keeps pausing itself

The most common problem i have seen is the door lock has failed, but it can also depend on what part of the cycle it is pausing on.The other more common problem is the main control panel has gone bad,

Check to make sure there are no obstructions that would cause the drain pump not to pump out water.

Washer will pause in mid cycle, once you push the pause cycle it will run for a while then will pause again, after about 5 to 6 times a load it will complete.

Washer won't spin

Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

Ge front load washer model WSXH208A Will not spin

Mine kept stopping mid cycle also, pouring water on the floor, then the start/pause button flashed and the door unlocked. I found the solution to clean the lint filter on the GE Adora. Go to http://www.instructables.com/id/GE-Adora-Lint-Filter-Cleanout/?download=pdf

I just did this and my washer is now running instead of the flashing start/pause and door unlocking. It was fairly easy. Make sure you have towels and a flat pan to catch the water if you don't have the machine on a riser. There may be water inside so a wet vac may be helpful too. Once my washer finishes what was in it, I have these funky towels to clean. You'll be very surprised what you find in the filter! Best of luck!
