Before graphing deactivate the statistical plots: Press [2nd][Y=] to access the (STAT PLOTS) configuration screen and press [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]

To draw polar graph, make sure in MODE, POL is highlighted.
Make sure that the angle unit is set to RADIAN
If you want the angle unit to be in degrees you must open the WINDOW editor to modify the values of Theta max to a significant value: 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, 360, otherwise the calculator will take the default value 6.28 (2*PI) in degrees

How do we change between X, T, Theta and n in the graphing calculator? I need the X, but it only inputs T....

Press the MODE button, select FUNC on the fourth line, then press 2ND QUIT.

How do I get the other symbols from the X, T, O, n button?

It depends on the context and the configuration of the graph type. If the graph type is function y=f(x) then pressing the button will type in the X-variable. If the graph type is polar then pressing the key will type the theta symbol. The T-symbol is enacted when graph type is parametric, and the n-variable when you are drawing sequences.
When you press the MODE button, you open a screen that configures the calculator. On the 4th line in that screen, you see FUNC, PAR, POL, SEQ.

For graphing how do I enter the information on the screen

Press the Y= button then input the function you are trying to graph. The function should look like y=2x+3 or something. It must be all x's on the other side of the =. It doesn't work if you input 2x+y+3. It must only be x's. If you are trying to graph a different kind of equation then you press the mode button and there is a horizontal list of 4 options that are (in order) FUNC (function) PAR(Parametric) POL (Polar) SEQ (Sequential). Then after you select the one you are trying to graph, you press the Y= button and fill in the information.

How do you use the pol and rec

To avoid errors make sure that the angle unit is THE ONE required by your problem. To verify or to change the angle unit press [SIFT][MODE] and select [3: Deg] for degrees, [4:Rad] for radians, or [5:Grad] for grads.

Convert from rectangular to polar

[SHIFT][+] (Pol) . Screen displays Pol(
You enter the X-coordinate, and the Y coordinate separated by a comma, then you close the parenthesis and press [=].

Exemple: Polar coordinate of the point (1,1)
Pol( 1, 1) gives
r=1.414213562 (square root of 2)
θ=45

Here is how you enter it
Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]
[SHIFT][POL] 1 [SHIF] [,] 1 [)] [=]

The screen displays
Pol(1,1)
r= 1.414213562
θ= 45

Convert from polar to rectangular coordinates

Rec ( radius, angle) =

Exemple: Recatngular coordinates of (r=3, θ=60°)
[SHIFT][Rec] 3 [SHIFT][,] 60 [ ) ] [=]
The screen displays
Rec(3,60)
X= 1.5
Y= 2.598076211

When tracing a graph, instead of x and y there is R and O. and they have different value than x, Y. how do i fix back to X and Y??

Hello,

Your calculator can draw different kinds of graphics ( Functions, Parametric, Polar, and Sequences).

Apparently, yours is configured to draw in Polar mode, where the variables are named r, the radius, and Theta (a horizontaly barred O) the angle .

To draw the usual y=f(x) graphics,
Press the MODE key/button then look for the 4th line that displays Func, Par, Pol, Seq
Use the left arrow to highlight Func. It will blink. Press ENTER to validate your choice.

After that, Press 2nd MODE and you will get back to the calculation screen.

Then you Press key Y= and start keying in the desired function.

Hope it helps
