I have a craftsman zero turn and the battery would be discharged in a day. Also would not turn over. After spending money on parts, which my troubleshooting said was bad. I decided to trace all the wires. Found the wires to the clutch switch had rubbed on the drive belt. Also the engine mount bolt that holds the negative cables, the nut had backed off so the cables were not making good contact. Spliced the wires on the clutch switch and bought a nut and tightened the mount bolt and everything works fine.
Make sure the brake is set, and the two 'power' handles are centered, i.e., in neutral position. Both of these have an interlock switch that prevents the mower from being started. Good luck! Please rate if helpful, thanks.
