I have the same problem - cannot get closed captioning off my tv. I've used the remote to turn it off, or try to, and it doesn't go away.I have the same problem - cannot get closed captioning off my tv. I've used the remote to turn it off, or try to, and it doesn't go away.

Access the TV's menu by pressing the "menu" button on the remote. Look for "Captioning" or if not on the screen try "set-up" or "audio" all the while looking for "CC", "Caption" or "Closed Caption". When you find it, turn it off.

You should be able to accsess your menu by pressing the menu button on your remote. You can scroll around until you see a "CC" option. Select that and arrow up down or side to side to select turning closed caption off.
Go in ur tv menu go" Picture" go down to reset, press it the tv will back to factory setting. If the Captioning still there.Than ur Tuner Main signal board have problems.
On the TV's user menu (press "menu" button) look for "Captioning" or "Closed Caption" choice. If not immediately in view look in "set up" or "Audio"...it should be in the menu. Find it and then turn it off.
Try pressing the "View" button on the remote control a couple times -- it sounds like you have the picture-in-picture mode turned on but with nothing showing on the second input.
You have the CC (closed captioning) turned on and it is set to text mode. Look for a button on your remote labeled "CC" or go into your TV menu and make sure the captioning selection is set to "off".
