Epson Photo R265 Lines every 2.5 cm

Hello,

All my prints are coming out with horizontal lines across them every 2.5 cm. The lines aren't the white ones that would indicae the need for head cleaning. Nevertheless I have cleaned the heads and performed print head alignment but the problem persists. Any advice?

same problem epson stylus photo R 340

stu

I have exactly the same problem with my epson R265. Every 2.5cm a horizontal band appears on the page. This happends regardless of colur being printed. I printed a test page containing vertical columns of each colur and the band is present across all colours.

I would describe it as being 0.5mm strips of a darker shade of the intended colour.

I've run numerous head cleaning, and nozzle checks etc and still no joy.

What operating system are you using? is the printer directly connected to your computer via USB cable?

Your laser scanner or your paper path might be defective. Try replacing the laser scanner or the engine controller board. For the paper path, you might also need to change your fuser.

I have an Epson SX215, worked perfectly until today, any image with black on it is only printing in black bands. Have done numerous head cleans and changed the ink but still not working.

I hope my english is good enough to help you.
i have observed the same problem on my printer R 265 and also stylus 1400.
It could be also a very simple problem... After inserting the cartrige several times even if it is a cartrige from a CISS...makes no difference, the cartrige places get used...how ever..so the cartrige does not keep tight enough to printer head, or the seal-rubber on the cartrige is used to much
and sometimes the printer head sucks air, or the color-ink from the ink on the left or right side of other cartriges. You must first find out wich cartrige is not tight, not sealing enough to the printer head ; After that you can make a sealing ring out of rubber-from a rubber glove as example(very thin)in diameter of about 10mm with a hole
in the midle(fitting good to the pipe...), putting it over the little pipe where the cartrige is conected to the printer head.So the conection will be sealed and the printer head will **** only his own color-ink. If this solution is not helpful than you have got a real problem with the hardware

hope i could help

    1. First, do the recommended troubleshooting steps for OUTPUT Issues, if its still the same continue
    2. TRASH and REINSTALL the drivers
    3. Try a different application and file
using a PHOTO PRINTER (Stylus PHOTO) try to set the QUALITY OPTION to BEST PHOTO or PHOTO RPM
    5. Go to PRINTING PREFERENCES and hit ADVANCE
    6. Choose the right PAPER TYPE, SIZE and SOURCE then disable HIGH SPEED
    7. Once all those are set choose PHOTO RPM under the COLOR MANAGEMENT box and try printing
    8. This will print a lot slower but will be using alot of ink and eliminate the lines

clogged nozzle, run the clean head then test page in this order at least 5 times in a row, you should see an improvement on each test page, sometimes you need to keep doing this clean/print until the nozzle becomes unclogged, if you don't see a difference in the 5-10 clean/test page then you need a new head

hope this helps

This evening I bought a new HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I am trying to print photos now and the photos are being printed with small vertical lines across the whole photo. How do I get rid of them?

> I bought a new printer

Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

Horizontal lines (red) on first 1 - 2 pages of initial print-out

Do you refill ink tank? Print blank pages. Is there horizontal lines appear? It might be caused bay ink leakage. Check respiratory hole at ink tank and rubber seal at bottom of ink tank. Print blank pages until no horizontal lines and try to use new ink tank.

Epson Stylus r220 prints with white lines... i installed a CIS and it worked fine for about 6 months, now i'm getting prints with white lines (or fine spots) i tried nozzle check, which comes out good......

Nozzle check must perfect for perfect output. There are tranversal lines at vertical straight lines that represent same point of head micro piezo. If tranversal lines no clog at all, but vertical straight lines not perfectly straight, the result not good (like horizontal white banding). Check it? Head aligment is for vertical banding. If your result is horizontal banding, you don't need to realign head. It's caused by some residual at the output of head sprayer. So, the spray of ink not straight to paper. Try to print with photo/best photo.

Q: How can I tell if the computer or the printer is causing a print quality problem? A: You can print a nozzle check pattern to determine whether the print quality problem is caused by the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series or some other source.

I had this trouble, went through cleaning & realignment, then various print options. What i found was that dark colours had faint dark horizontal lines 5mm apart when printing on Photo in the epson driver. Changing it to Best Photo solved it.

Check status monitor see if cartridges are low or nearly empty , if new or full take out all cartridges and soak nozzles upright in cleaning solution overnight , or untill ink starts to bleed out:

Dab dry and re - fit , make up a A4 paper page with 6 colour bands about 1" high x 8" wide and print about 4 to 6 pages ,
check which colours are poor , if improvement is observed run
again a few times:

If one colour is poor take out that cartridge and soak again for a few hours , try again:

If no improvement replace with new cartridge or use a cleaning cartridge ( available on-line ) :

Using the head-cleaning utility shortens the life of the printer as the printer is set to lock-out after a pre-set use of the cleaning facility: and will have to be re-set instore:
