THERE IS A POWER SHORTAGE IN MY CORD

Don't keep using it unless you want to get electrocuted... It is cheaper now to buy a new iron than it is to have this one repaired.

My Pro Finish 714 cord was accidentally cut. Is it worth replacing the cord? Where do you get a new cord and can I replace it myself?

Thank you for using FixYa. Is the cord cut near the iron end or the outlet end? could the cord be shortened? A new cord can be purchased at most reasonable hardware stores and with a little care and attention can be replaced yourself.

Hope this has been of some help.

I am told the problem is with cord and they point at the and they point at the base of a beautiful iron.

Usually the cord at the base breaks off, because of tension from too much moving and pulling!

If thats problem u could cut the appropriate length and screw again the end of the cord!

Iron cuts off in the middle of ironing

It is probably an intermittent cord connection next to the strain relief. You can simply remove the back cover, cut the cord, pull the remaining cord (approx 6-8") and reconnect it. You can also order part # RS-DE 245954 the whole cord assembly including the circuit board for about $25.

Shortage in my cord

Time to change the cord!! And stop pulling it out of the socket by the cord, pull it out by the plug itself

Rowenta Iron-Professional Luxe The power cord seems to short out when you move iron. You can wiggle it next to the movable ball and it clicks on and off. The two screw heads on bottom appear to be special...

I drilled out the nubs in the center of the screws. removed the screws, and took off the back plate. The problem is that the cord seems to be abraiding when it swivels, and eventually wears thru. It seems like a fire hazard and should be looked into by Rowena. Anyway, I cut out the damaged cord and reattached it. Problem fixed..

Hair Dryer cord has electrical shortage

IF you take off about a inch of wire from the plug and re-wire it [somtimes with new plug also] make sure to remember the fuse and this should do the trick.
