The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Read error appears after downloading pictures and looking back in the camera, some pictures have read error

When you hook your camera to your computer you are accessing it like a disk and changes made to "files" are saved to the disk. A common change is to rotate the image so it views correctly on the computer screen for images you turned the camera to take a portrait oriantation shot. That change is saved to the image on disk, then the camera can no longer display it because it is not the right "dimensions" for the camera (it is rotated)

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

I don't remember how to download picture to my computer.

Hi.

Most cameras are detected and installed automatically as external disk after connecting the USB cable.
In that case all you will need to do is opening My Computer and accessing the camera after connecting USB.
The picture will be contained into a folder inside the camera USB disk, represented in My computer.
At that point select all pictures, and copy and paste them into the My Picture folder. In the camera disk
