For the last few months my dishwasher has been leaving sandy particles behind. they are in the bottom of the dishwasher and left behind on the dishes. I have to either re-wash or wipe off all dishes before they get put away. Some are need to be rewahsed as they are not getting clean anymore. My heater on the bottom (not sure what it is called) is covered in crust. Could this be the cause? If so, how do I get rid of it?
If not - what else could it be?
The buttons to start the cycle auto clean or heavy wash does not light up and therefore is not cleaning my disches please advise to

I have a Maytag 200 series dishwasher with the same problem. Dirty residue left behind. It doesn't matter if I've just cleaned out the dishwasher with bleach and vinegar or not. HELP!
Same problem exactly as described. Is this a design flaw or a filter that needs cleaned?
my maytag Quiet series 100 has the same thing It has something to do with the drain the force is not the same as it has been. I would like to know how to fix it..
Same problem with my 100 series.
I found this article about it, but haven't yet tried their suggested solution.

I have the quiet series 200 and have the same issue. This dishwasher seems plagued with issues.
The glasses, particularly on the upper shelf of my dishwasher, have crud/residue left inside, at the bottom, which is dried on after the cycle ends. I have to re-wash my dishes after the cycle. It's nuts.
