Dvd will not eject from slot drive of dell vostro 1510
A DVD + R will not eject from slot drive of dell vostro 1510 laptop. I have tried the following.
1. Right clicked the DVD drive, clicked eject
2. clicked function F10
3. rebooted

Restart your computer and enter set up bios. Try ejecting your dvd rom from there... it that doesn't work, get a pin and insert it in the pinhole on the dvdrom whuile pressing the eject button... that should do the trick!

- if you can't remove the DVD inside, there is a small hole besides the eject button if your not using a slot tray DVDrom
- you can stick a hair pin or a small pointed object to manually eject the dvd inside

- after this update your system for disk drivers
try opening a media player preferably windows media player and try ejecting from the play tab. if it still doesn't work, check to ensure the driver is working
check whether you are able to boot fom operating system cd/dvd, if you are able to boot fom OS cd/dvd, there is no hardware issue, if unable to boot = Replace optical drive
then software troubleshooting Install firmware upgrade for optical drive fom suppot.dell.com reinstall Operating system.
Mechanical you need to take the drive out and disassemble the casing. I seen one that the CD actully broke into millions of pieces. I was not there to experience the happening but was there to help save the drive.
