Does not matter, the laptop runs at the 100 mhz speed so the 133 mhz memory will simply run at the slower speed.

Compaq system board 686,0MB (320756) board manual

That's an old mainboard (Motherboard), used in a Compaq Presario 5716 desktop computer. (And perhaps a few other Compaq Presario's)

1) Uses a Slot 1 (Intel) processor slot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slot_1

2) Maximum Intel Slot 1 processor that can be used, is an Intel Pentium III, with a 100MegaHertz Front Side Bus. (100MHz FSB)
Maximum frequency rate for the processor is 700MHz.
('Speed')

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium-III/TYPE-Pentium%20III%20%28Katmai%29.html

(Scroll the page down)

3) Ram memory is SDR Sdram at 100MHz. Or also known as PC-100. (168 pin. 82 on each side. Two Locating Notches on bottom. Commonly just known as Sdram, but that is a misnomer)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC100

Maximum TOTAL Amount of ram memory is 384MegaByte.
Maximum Amount for each ram memory slot is 128MB.
There are 3 ram memory slots.

4) Do not know what the jumper settings on the motherboard are.

5) Do not know what the Front Panel header pinout is.

6) Can run Windows XP Home Edition, but do not expect a world of performance.

I have a compaq presario 5000 desktop and it supose to have a maximun of 728mb of memory cuz i upgrade it originaly it had 64mb all the card has the same speed 100mhz it runs them but when u chek on my...

to see how much memory you have on it ..just click on my computer right ..and select properties..It will display the CPU and the ram memory on the bottom of the window..If it is less than the one you know you installed ..and the difference is more than 32 or 64 M ..(it may be this difference cause the video card may use them and will not appear as usable for the OS ) If it is larger ..than that ..open it up and check the modules to be plugged correctly ..and even remove the bios battery to force the board to see all the memory ..Another thing you can do is to reinstall the operation system and force to see the memory ..In case you never done it when you upgraded ..( i think this is the case ...old computers always needed the reinstalling for to recognize ram on upgrade )

Hello , my server mainboards fsb is stuck at 100mhz , the board can support to 133mhz , but i cant set that speed in the bios , the settings are greyed out. my cpu supports a max speed to 1500mhz but now...

It sounds like the system is set to "auto" at the moment, OR the memory speed will not support the 133mhz fsb speed, check the RAM and see what the speed rating is. Leave the CPU multiplier alone, that may well damage the cpu.

Presario won't recognize second 256 RAM

Remove the original module, install just the new one and then start your computer. If it doesn't start, the memory you bought is bad. The system boards used in the Compaqs will auto-detect memory, and there are no jumpers or BIOS settings needed.

Upgrade cpu on pavilion 6630

i am suggesting you the solution keeping in mind that there is no display is on the monitor.
The max ram that HP Pavilion 6630 PC Desktop can support is 256 mb pc 100 or pc 133mhz.
check if you have installed that amount of ram, if thats correct then check if any continues beep sound is coming out of CPU.

if there is beep try to change the ram slot.the more possibilty i either the new ram is faulty or incompatibel.

try to install the old ram see if it works. if still no display.

install old cpu and heat sink.see what happen ..

then let me know the result.

bye & take care..

Compaq presario c502us notebook

Laptops are usless for playing games. They may play some low quality games but there is really nothing you can do to upgrade a laptop to make it suitable for playing games. If you are planning on playing PC Games, buy a good Desktop Computer.

Which frequency of processor for QDI motherboard BrillianX-1S with BIOS 4.51 PG

hey there.

If you are planning to upgrade the processor with the latest one then it is not possible without upgrading your motherboard.

Because as per all the bus and system configuration requirement with ur CPU you must give the recommended bus speed, bus lines, Address lines, Ram supportive slot, and RAM Frequency.

Your motherboard must suuport all those requirement if you are upgrading ur Processor.

You are right that ur motherboard can only work with PIII CPU.

Upgrade ur motherboard with atleast of 845,945G Chipset to support up to core2 Duo Processor in Intel. OR with A8V-VM and above in Asus Motherboard.
