Can't remove AV Input display

I have a Sony KDL-40D3000 and a Sony RDR-HXD870. They are connected via HDMI. When watching TV from the DVD Recorder there is an on-screen display (top left) showing "AV7 input player 1 HDD/DVD". I believe that I have been through all menus and tried all settings on the recorder and the TV that could possible turn this off.
Could anyone please offer advice to get rid of this!
Thanks
Gary

Best way to connect sony Bravia TV, RDR-HXD890 recorder and Sky Q box, please??

Connecting your old RDR-HXD890 player/recorder to your Sky Q box and TV can be done by using the appropriate cables and connections. Here is an example of how you can connect the devices:
  1. Connect the HDMI output of the Sky Q box to the HDMI input of the RDR-HXD890 using an HDMI cable. This will send the video and audio signals from the Sky Q box to the RDR-HXD890.
  2. Connect the HDMI output of the RDR-HXD890 to the HDMI input of the TV using an HDMI cable. This will send the video and audio signals from the RDR-HXD890 to the TV.
  3. Connect the aerial cable to the aerial input of the RDR-HXD890
  4. Connect the RDR-HXD890 to the power outlet
  5. Turn on all the devices and set the TV to the HDMI input where the RDR-HXD890 is connected.
By connecting your devices in this manner, you will be able to watch and record TV shows and movies from your Sky Q box through the RDR-HXD890 and display them on your TV.

Sony connectivity

OK, here are info...
first unplug TV and dvd recorder from AC outlet and put hdmi cable as follows...
at rear side of TV, you have 2 hdmi inputs, hook hdmi cable in any one of them and other end of hdmi cable will be hooked in hdmi out of dvd recorder rear side.
Now, plug both units in AC outlet and power up, go to TV menu > hdmi setup > and perform device list update.
TV will recognize dvd recorder and you will see dvd recorder logo screen.

Let me know if you need further info / help.

Connecting and recording sony hdtv, rdr-hx780 recorder, sony dream system

I have the same system, except for the TV, I have a project (that part doesn't matter).

From your Sat. go straight to your AV receiver
Again from you Sat. (all of the AV outputs are all live), go out from either 1 or 2 and go to your recorder Line 1 in.
From you AV receiver go to your TV.

All you have to do is hit record and you will record whichever channel you are on. I am having difficulty getting it set up as a PVR, but will figure it out sooner or later.

Hope this helped.

I presume that your TV uses Scart to connect to other devices and on your TV remote there will be a button that has either of these things next to it: 1.A box with an arrow pointing into it. 2.A button that says input. 3.A button that says AV. Turn on your DVD recorder and then push the button that i explained until you find the DVD recorder is coming up on your screen
