Trying to recover various programs (including office)

I have an Acer Aspire 5002WLMi which recently crashed, so I used the System Recovery CD to restore Windows XP, and it worked fine. I also want to recover Microsoft Office. The computer came with three additional Recovery CD's (Disk 1, 2 and 3 of 3) which I believe have all of the preinstalled software (including office). I explored Disk 1 of 3, and it contains a file folder named "images" as well as 2 files named Model.dat and RCD.dat. Sadly, I can't figure out how to recover the information contained within these 3 recovery CD's. I've gone through the eRecovery (Alt-F10) program, and read countless user guides and help files, but I can't find the solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My bios has always been cd boot first. I've already booted from the system recovery cd to restore Windows, but I was never prompted to insert any other cd's. I have also tried booting up with the "Recovery CD 1 of 3" in the cd drive, but it wasn't recognized as a bootable cd.

And yes, my wife insists that office was part of the package when she bought it, along with norton, photoshop, and a host of other software.

Acer aspire 4352 how to do system recovery since i dont have cd to support me.tks

When you do not have recovery disks it is not uncommon for the manufacturer to have included in your preloaded programs one to make recovery disks or to recover the computer from special files included in your hard drive.

Check your manual for the details. If nada there then you may be able to purchase a set of recovery disks from Acer.

Click: Start
Click: All Programs
Click: Accessories
Click: System Tools
Click: System Restore

Pick a "restore-point" that was taken _before_ the update was applied,
and restore your system to that previous date/time.

OR ....

Look under "All Programs" for a utility that will help you burn CD/DVD(s) to create a "Recovery Disk" set. Burn more CD/DVD(s) with all your "data" files (or copy all your data-files to an external hard-drive). Then, boot from the "Recovery Disk", to begin the process of restoring the "factory" settings.

Acer aspire not loading to windows

Hi,

If you have recovery disc or back up disc put it in and restart the PC and start tapping the F12 key until at the Acer splash screen, you should get now see your boot order, now use your up and down cursor key to highlight the CD/DVD drive and then press enter, this will now start the recovery disc that you put in, just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't have a disc, restart the PC and at the Acer splash screen start tapping the ALT+F10 or just F10 and if you have a recovery partition on your hardrive then the recovery program will start up, just follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks

I need a recovery disk for my Vista OS preinstalled on Acer Aspire T180. Can I create it by myself? (Recently my system crashed and I had to a tecnichian for using his recovery disk)

You can use a hard drive imaging program such as Norton Ghost to create a recovery DVD(s). Norton Ghost is available as part of System Works or as a stand alone program. Power Quest's Drive Image is also an alternative, however it is too old to be compatible with Vista - you could do a Drive Image outside of Windows - booting off the Floppy.
