Our front end loader stinks and we have to leave the door open. We have the exact same problem where I work. How do you get the smell out?

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Next: You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Have you cleaned out your pump lately. Put the pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.
Pl give me a good rating for the free help, thanks.

My Duet washer stinks so much. The wash does not come out smelling good. It is clean but it doesn't smell good. I do use those cleaning tablets but it still stinks. It has over-suds many times where...

I have found that using a l/4scoop of oxi cleaner any brand will do along with my regular wash detergent helps keep the odor under control . I leave my door open to the washer when not in use. Occasionally I will clean under the gasket with a mild cleaner. Remember the front loaders use less water and therefor less detergent. Good luck.

My washer stinks like mold

This is inherent with front loaders.
Try running a hot water wash with bleach and no clothes. They also make washer cleaners. Probably have at hardware stores or appliance parts stores. To keep from happening again, make sure you use "HE", detergent. Also do not use to much. When you are done leave door open a couple inches. I have a 12 year old front load and this works for me.

Getting rid of a horrible stink in my washer kenmore HE2

The following link will give you some tips to try in order to minimize odors and mildew in a front loading washer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608512-getting_rid_front_loader_mildew_odor

Following a good regiment of routine cleaning of the door bellow, followed by leaving the door open when not in use (at a minimum) can go a long way towards preventing odors in a front loader. Since the doors on these washers are water tight when closed, it is importnant to leave them open when not in use to allow the drum to air out. There is a small amount of residual water that remains in the drain lines and pump that will sour if you don't. I personally own a Kenmore Elite and have never had problems with mildew or odor in the 9 years I've had it by following this routine.

In addition, it is a good idea to periodcially check the drain pump reservoir to ensure there is not dirt or debirs clogging the pump and becoming stagnant. The following link explains how to access and clean the drain pump (if necessary):

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

The drain pump reservoir collecting debris, along with small articles of clothing getting caught in the folds of the door bellow are the two main causes of odors in a front loader.

Read through the links provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.

Stinky Washer

We had the same problem with our front loader. (after only a year) We ran a load on "sanitary" setting with bleach. After that we leave the door open after EVERY load. That has fixed our problem
