Hi,

I have come across this problem before.

For the player to reset after the code has been incorrectly entered several times, the screen should display code.

So to reset this put the keys in the ignition and turn the ignition on so the red lights are on in the dash, no need to start the car.

Do this in your driveway or garage at home where it is secure,
because the ignition needs to remain on for about an hour for it to reset so it says code again on the screen .
once that happens you can enter the code.

one of the running rails has come loose or broke inside the player bring it to a dvd/tv repair shop not a car dealer as you get ripped off.

The sixth place is where the cd that was being played has to be put before it can take another cd to play. there should be a reset button some where im not sure where yet but I will find out and let you know shortly.

Nope thats what you have to do....they are they only ones that can repair that unit

are you trying to mix a MP3 CD and a non MP3 player?

The player doesn't like the brand of CDR your playing. Try using just a CD burner instead of a combo CD/DVD burner. Also use Verbatim Pastel brand, because the player recognizes these discs easier. Also, it wouldn't hurt for you to run a commercial disc laser cleaner through this thing to clean the optical lens. Burn music using Nero software because its easy and the best.

my cara 2007 Hyundai Elantra a CD in and it tries to load and then says error 42. Any hope for it

hi try first to insert a clean up CD, and test your Cd player with an original CD, if the problem persist , your laser sense is defficient you have to go to fix it to a specialist.

Hi, I'm having the same problem ... when I try to insert a homemade cd it tries to read the cd but gives an error. Now I wondered, forella, did you try a factory cd? By that I mean a bought cd. Those work very well with my lausanne CD31, the only problem seems to be home made cd's. If anyone knows the solution to this problem, caugh it up :) Greets, and be sure to try those bought cd's forella.
