our GE profile spacemaker XL1800 micro 'ran'...lights on, sound coming out, turntable moving, but literally no heat to defrost/cook. Can't figure out what to do. Tried various options on keypad...microwave 'appears' to be working but when you open the door, nothing has occurred-it's like the heating just stopped. HELP!

My 4 yr. old JES1456BJ02 stopped dead (as if the the plug had been pulled) after 20 min of a 22 min cook cycle. It was VERY hot to the touch on the bottom and will not power back up. AC circuit is OK so the problem is in the oven. Suspect it overheated and shutdown. What part has likely failed and is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Try looking at the microswitches behind the door.

May Spacemaker XL1800 stop heating food. Was working fine. Then just stop

Is this an over the stove type unit? I have had a few problems with my over the range spacesaver. I think the heat from cooking gets up into the microwave and damages it. The steam from me boiling things on the stove had mine quit heating and I purchased a new one. The parts to replace the faulty ones can be quite expensive over $150.00, so its better to purchase a new microwave.

GE Spacemaker Microwave JVM1441 BH04 tripping circuit breaker

your power transformer for the magnetron could have a shorted primary power winding, the door safety interlock switch could be mis-adjusted,this normally blows the internal unit fuse,a shorted high voltage capacitor,or diode,a bare wire inside the unit, more than the microwave on that circuit or a weak circuit breaker in the house power panel

Spacemaker XL1800 runs but doesn't heat.

I think you should check the fuse first that runs the magnatron if the fuse is good that means the magnatron is bad! but if its only the fuse then you save time and money!

GE Spacemake XL1800 whines every time it cooks works great the

The charcoal filter must be changed every 6-12 months, depending on how much and how the oven is used.

If a filter clogs, it will interfere with cooling and lead to magnetron damage.

It may also be putting a strain on the cooling fan or hood vent exhaust fan, or one of those fans may have a blade loose on the motor shaft.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts (including filters) by entering your full model number here.

GE Spacemaker XL1800(JVM1850CF001) - Loud Humming noise

You either have a bad magnetron tube (5 or 10 year parts warranty item through GE Factory Service 1-800-432-2737 or www.geappliances.com) or a shorted high voltage rectifier. I think the light being out is a secondary problem.
